Stampin’ Up! Needlepoint and Thread Thanks

Well – it’s HAWWWMP day again!  I love that commercial – and Geico has started re-running them, have you noticed?  Along with the caveman series.  Those are commercials I don’t particularly mind watching – as opposed to nearly ANY of the other ones!

But – who doesn’t love MikemikemikemikeMIKE!!! 😉

My card today is super quick and easy, thanks to the fun Needle & Thread stamp set and coordinating Needlepoint Nook DSP.  Take a look-see:

This fun layout is from the challenge over at SketchSaturday.

And many elements are from the As You See It Collection challenge.

I started with a piece of Poppy Parade striped paper from the Needlepoint Nook DSP and matted it on Crushed Curry for the card front.

The next panel is a piece of Very Vanilla that I ran thru the Big Shot with the stitching die from the Needlepoint Elements Framelits, to create that beautiful design “stitched” into the card stock.

I stamped the Needle & Thread sentiment in Poppy Parade at the bottom of the panel, then I matted it on Crushed Curry and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Next up is a piece of Old Olive Needlepoint Nook DSP, also matted on Crushed Curry, then popped onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped a large flower in Poppy Parade and a smaller one in So Saffron and cut them with their matching dies from the Needlepoint Elements Framelits.

I also used a couple of leaves dies to cut Old Olive and Balmy Blue leaves, which I adhered with Liquid Glue.

I stuck the two flowers together with Liquid Glue and added a Needlepoint Nook Mini Button with a Glue Dot – then I adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I tied a Double-Loop Billie Bow from Linen Thread and stuck it on with a Glue Dot.  Over that I added a simple bow – tied with two lengths of Old Olive Linen Thread – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment in Poppy Parade to a Very Vanilla panel.  Then I added some tiny butterflies in Balmy Blue and a few lines of “stitches” in So Saffron across the corner.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Crushed Curry mat and into my Balmy Blue card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more “stitches” and butterflies on the front…

…and I added more Needlepoint Nook DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Love this Needlepoint Nook suite of goodies, don’t you?  A little ink and some stamped images from the Needle & Thread stamp set added to embossed “quilting” and beautiful paper.  Yep – about as close to sewing as you’re going to get from me!  Thank goodness for paper and ink!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Finn yields the spotlight today to his kitty-sister.

He’s a generous big-little brother.

See – he’s BIGGER than she is but she’s OLDER than he is (by a long shot).  So…big-little brother!

See how she’s sorta got a blurry “halo” around her?  Yes – she’s just like Doris Day!

Que sera sera…
