Stampin’ Up! Bring On All The Bright Christmas Presents

Okay, you guys.  I’m finally caged to what the heck DAY it is!  Sheesh – can you believe that I thought there were still TWO weeks until Christmas!?  Yesterday was like…Springing Forward – for me.  But…it was a WEEK forward.  Like an HOUR, only….SO.  MUCH.  WORSE!!  All of a sudden my mild panic became…abject horror!!  I’m not RUNNING out of time – I’m flat OUT of time.

So – I baked like crazy yesterday and did some wrapping.  Still not gonna get everything where it needs to go by THIS Christmas, but…perhaps my late-arriving goodies will help to extend the holiday cheer!

Yea.  That’s my story.  Also – at this point it is what it is, so… 😳

My card for today is likely going to be one of th last that will be all about Christmas.  I mean – there’s only like 5 more days where a Christmas card is appropriate.  LOL.

For this one, I used the wonderful pine paper from the All Is Bright DSP and the Bring On The Presents and Merry Christmas To All stamp sets to make you a…present!  Take a look-see:

Just so you know – NONE of my “real” presents will look even remotely like this when they finally ship! 😉

I was playing along with this week’s TGIF Challenge – and I really went all in on the sketch!

I started with some of my favorite paper from the All Is Bright DSP and matted it on Real Red for the card front.

Then I “wrapped” the card front with 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon and Real Red 1/8″ Solid Ribbon – securing it all in the back with Glue Dots.

I pulled out the Pretty Pines Thinlits and cut some Shaded Spruce and Garden Green pine boughs.  I cut some Sparkle Glimmer Paper leaves, too.  With the Frosted Bouquet Framelits, I cut a few Real Red berry sprigs.

All these, I added to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Whisper White card stock, I stamped the big bow from Bring On The Presents in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Then I colored it with my Dark and Light Real Red Stampin’ Blends.  I didn’t want a white border – so I fussy cut the bow and popped it on top of the ribbons with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

My sentiment, also from Bring On The Presents, is stamped in Shaded Spruce on Whsiepr White.  I added the tag border in Real Red – and fussy cut that, too.

I tucked the gift tag under the bow with some Liquid Glue and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a big sentiment from Merry Christmas To All set in Shaded Spruce on Whisper White.  Then I added a couple of flourishes in Real Red.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Real Red mat and into my Shaded Spruce card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Real Red flourishes from the Merry Christmas To All set on the front…

…and I added some more of the All Is Bright DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  One week – or two! – this is a fun card for Christmas!  I love this paper from the All Is Bright DSP so much!  And that huge bow from Bring On The Presents is really perfect, especially colored with the Stampin’ Blends!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

From very early in his time with us, I’ve enforced about three rules with the Man.

They’re really for his own safety.

One of those is…do NOT go in the stalls.  Horses in – horses out – door open – door closed…no dog in the stall.

It just makes sense.

Sometimes he…forgets?…the rule.

But – he doesn’t always own up.

Finn?  Have you been in the stall?

Me?  Oh no – that would be against your really smart rule set in place for my own safety, Mom!  Uh…why do you ask??

  1. What a pretty card! Love the die cut layers and your ribbon “wraps” it up perfectly! Ha! Busted by a little poo on the nose…I’m sure that he just found it somewhere or it fell on his nose as he was walking right next to you Mom. He wasn’t anywhere he wasn’t supposed to be…;)

    • stampsnlingers

Yep – he’s completely innocent. ALWAYS! 😉 Thanks much, Amy! 🙂

Oh Mary, I think God gave you that “Finn” to keep you laughing. So funny! Actually I did not see the “stuff” on his nose right away, It was the eyes, just love it!
Oh Yes, and the card is just beautiful and I am glad you caught up with time. Could not understand when you said 2 weeks till Christmas. Poor, poor Mary. lol. Have a great day.

    • stampsnlingers

I believe you must be right because he surely does keep me smiling and laughing! I obviously NEEDED TWO weeks not less-than-ONE! Yikes! Thanks, Jean! 🙂

  3. …but how can you not love him and forgive him with such sweet expressions! I know you do and he knows you will!! Your card is just beautiful. I have regretted not getting that paper but, as a demonstrator, I have learned not to order DSP end of season! Mary, I totally understand your shock and horror. I have not sent one card out! I managed to get my granddaughter’s presents to her but not the rest of the family. She is an artist so she got all the Blends and the Stampin Storage to go with it! I have not baked one cookie because Perry was the only one who ate them. I didn’t have the energy to “give to my neighbors” as in years past. We will be prepared for next year…I can feel it. I’m glad I’m not alone in the boat!! Thank you for sharing a seat.

    • stampsnlingers

Yes – he’s forgiven every time and he knows it! Which is how all dogs should be – secure in the love of their staff! 🙂 Welcome to the boat, Karen! It’s a bit wobbly but it’ll hold us up! Thanks much and take care of YOU! 🙂

  4. Ha, Ha! That face! Says it all. Don’t know what we’d do without our furry friends/family.
Beautiful ‘package’. I wondered what to do with that paper. Now I know. I’m in the ‘how did Christmas get here so soon?’ boat, too. Happens every year lately. Thankfully I have a couple extra days as my family isn’t coming until the 30th. For the first time in meany years I will get to go to church on Christmas Eve.

    • stampsnlingers

I KNEW it was coming – just not how QUICKLY! I even thought – gee, I hope that the cookies I make now to send won’t be STALE by the time Christmas rolls around! Yes – I was THAT deluded! Old age… Thanks, Julie!! Glad you get to go to church on Christmas Eve!

  5. Kate

This card is THE most beautiful!!!
You cannot manufacture a week. There are 12 days if Christmas…you are not late by a stretch.
Hmmm…I think the Finn MIGHT be thinking ” why is it not possible a horse was OUT of the stall…likely one of those girls, and left a little remembrance. After all, rules are rules…which I truly appreciate, bein’ for my safety ‘n all.”

    • stampsnlingers

Weeellll….hope you still think that when the box arrives on Tuesday or Wednesday next week! 🙁 That scenario COULD happen, but…it’s pretty unlikely! 🙂 Thanks, Mom! 🙂

  6. Karen L.

Good Gosh!! You are definitely not alone on that awful “breaking news” that Christmas is next Monday!! I thought I had another week to go as well & now I am in sort of a panic mode!!!!!!! I do have my cards & out of town gifts gone but, I still need “stuff” for people living near!! Like you said -“it is what it is!” Love the card……so very festive!! Don’t be doing any “kisses” till that mug gets cleaned!!

    • stampsnlingers

Yea – nose kisses ALWAYS get a bit of a once-over pre-kiss! 😉 Springing forward that this time of year it tough! I just mailed my things – and…fingers crossed – all but the one to Russia MIGHT get there on Monday. It’s the season of Miracles, so… maybe! Wishing you good luck in your gathering of stuff! Merry Christmas, Karen! 🙂

  7. Sylvia

Hi Mary & Merry Christmas!! I just love your cards & your blogs. Thank you for kindness in sharing your projects. That is truly a gift that keeps on giving all year. May the good Lord always keep you safe in his loving arms. Huggs

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks very much, Sylvia – I appreciate you and your kind words very much indeed. Hugs and Merry Christmas to you! 🙂

  8. Susan K

Yeah, I totally get the “where did the time go?” thing! My trouble is I knew what day it was and am still behind! Love the beautiful card. Perfect take on the sketch! Boy, those eyes would get me everytime! Stuff on the nose or not! Enjoy the holiday season! 🤗🎅🏼

    • stampsnlingers

Yep – he knows well how to work me – even if he doesn’t think he’s “working” me!! 😉 Hope you get all caught up, Susan! Thanks so much! 🙂

  9. Tami Hewlett

Beautiful card Mary!!! I love all the little details you used to decorate your “package” and the bow stamp is a perfect choice. Wish all my gifts were wrapped so pretty! Thanks for playing with TGIFC this week.

    • stampsnlingers

Boy – I do, too! Gift bags for me! 😉 Thanks so much, Tami – Merry Christmas! 🙂
