Stampin’ Up! Perennial Birthday Hoppy Together Sneak Peek!

Mornin’, folks!  Hope your weekend is going well!

My trip this week was re-scheduled for January, so I’m not on my way to CA right now.  Do have to take a quick trip up to Kentucky at the end of the week, but that’ll be easy!

I’m still not going to do a video tonight – sorry.  I have the whole week planned out for cards – and…hadn’t planned something video-worthy.  So…I’ll be back next Sunday, as planned!

Today, though, the card I have is SO fun!  It uses one of the cutest, most fun stamp sets coming in Jan.  And it’s going to be FREE!  That’s right – this set, called Hoppy Together – will be FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-Bration!  For this card, I added a sentiment from Perennial Birthday (in the Annual Catalog).  Take a look-see:

Cute, huh?

This fun layout is from this week’s Global Design Project sketch challenge.

And there’s no doubt at all that this little gem is high on my list of favorite new things!  As requested by the Paper Craft Crew Theme Challenge!

I started with a piece of Gingham Gala 6″ x 6″ DSP (coming on 3 Jan) and a same-size piece of Whisper White.  I stacked them up and, using my 1 3/4″ Circle Punch,  cut them on the right edge.  I dry fit them on another Whisper White panel that I’d matted on Shaded Spruce for the card front.

I used the adorable little froggie from Hoppy Together and stamped him in Shaded Spruce on the card front, situating him so he’d be peeking out of the “window” I’d created.

I colored him with my Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends.  The little bee is also from Hoppy Together – I stamped him a few times in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink around the frog.  They’re colored with my Dark Daffodil Delight Blend.  I used a Journaling Pen to add some dots as a “flight path”.

On the Whisper White panel with the 1 3/4″ hole punched in it, I stamped the big sentiment from Perennial Birthday in Shaded Spruce.  I added the butterfly and bees from Hoppy Together in Tuxedo Black.

I colored the bees with the Dark Daffodil Blend and the butterfly with my Light and Dark Mango Melody Blends and the Dark Daffodil Blend.  Then I added more “flight path” dots with the Journaling Pen.

I added the Gingham Gala and the Whisper White panels to the card front at an angle with Liquid Glue.

To make the froggie’s sign, I stamped the sentiment from Hoppy Together in Granny Apple Green on a scrap of Whisper White and fussy cut it.

I cut a little Shaded Spruce “stick” and adhered it with Liquid Glue, then added my sign.  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I added the same Hoppy Together froggie in Shaded Spruce on a Whisper White panel, coloring him with my Dark and Light Granny Apple Green Blends – plus my Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Write Marker for his belly and Shaded Spruce Marker for his spots.  I made his sign in the same way as the one on the front and this one is a bit of pun – I stamped the little bee and the “hoppy” (in Granny Apple Green).  Get it??

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Shaded Spruce mat and into my Granny Apple Green card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got some more crazy Hoppy Together bees across the front…

…and some more Lemon Lime Twist Gingham Gala DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  How could Hoppy Together NOT be one of my favorite new stamp sets?!?  I mean – it’s a-freakin’-dorable AND…uhm…FREE!!  Yes.  FREE with a $50 purchase once Sale-A-Bration starts in January!  I hope you like – and that your wish list just got a little longer!

Finn Fan Fix

We’ve been giving Katy tuna fish.

With oil.

And mayonnaise.

Hey – she’s like…16.  ANY calories we can get in her are GOOD calories.

And she likes it.  Especially the mayonnaise!!

And it smells WAY better than canned cat food.

Finn agrees.

It’s a hard thing standing sorta-politely back whilst the cat gets ALL THE GOOD FOOD!

So – sometimes, he gets to have the final lick on the bowl.

He makes the most of it.

Getting.  Every.  Last.  Drop.

It’s kind of handy. I just put the bowl back in the cupboard. No need to run the dishwasher or anything! 😉 Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  3. Kate

What is it about ALL things “cat”…comin’ and goin’ (😕) … that prove so enticing. Fishy breath seems right from Katy. Maybe not so much from Finn?
    Cute little froggy card…

No telling! They just want it ALL for themselves! Thanks, mom! 🙂

  6. Agree with Susan….TOADILY adorable! You are so clever. Love this one, and I don’t usually go in for cute. But, what’s not to like?? (Except, maybe, ahem, that, you know, gingham color)
Finn is certainly making sure to leave no bits of ANYTHING in that bowl! Funny!

But I toned it down – just for you! Thanks, Julie! 🙂
