Stampin’ Up! Happiness Surrounds Your Day!

Happy weekend, y’all!  Hope you’ve got something fun planned.

I have a plane flight planned.  Which – is NOT fun.  Not in any way that you slice it.  Tomorrow’ll be a 12 hour day to get back to Atlanta.  Bleh bleh bleh.  But we’ve had a great visit and gotten done all the things we needed to do while I was here.  So – bonus!

But – expectation management:  I will NOT be doing a Facebook live tomorrow – so sorry!  I don’t even land in Atlanta until a little after 5, so…just can’t do it, y’all!  I’ll be back next weekend, I promise!!

Let’s not think about that unpleasantness right now, though, shall we?  Instead, let’s take a look at a card that comes from the second stamp set in the upcoming Snowflake Showcase (available 1 Nov – 30 Nov 18).  This is the Happiness Surrounds stamp set and…it gives a completely different look from the Snow Is Glistening set I used yesterday.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge.

I started by stamping the sentiment from Happiness Surrounds in Call Me Clover on a Whisper White panel.  Then I embossed the panel in the Subtle Dynamic TIEF and matted it on a Mango Melody panel with Liquid Glue for the card front.

On a separate piece of Whisper White, using my Stamparatus, I stamped three of the flowers from the set.  Each flower is stamped twice – I rotated the stamp 90 degrees on the second stamp to create a cross-hatched image.  One flower was done in pure Mango Melody.  On the other two, I inked the stamp in Mango Melody, then used a Sponge Dauber to color the outside edges of the flower with Poppy Parade.  Once they were all colored, I cut them out with the matching die in the Snowfall Thinlits set.  Like the Happiness Surrounds stamp set – this die set will be available only from 1 – 30 November!

With another die from the Snowfall Thinlits, I cut three detailed flowers from Mango Melody and four from Poppy Parade.  Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the flowers to the cross-hatched flowers.  I saved the fourth Poppy Parade flower for later.

I inked the leaf image from Happiness Surrounds with Call Me Clover ink and added a bunch of leaves around the sentiment.  I laid my flowers on the panel where I was going to have them end up – and used them to help me figure out where to stamp the leaves.  Hint:  this would have been a heckuva lot easier to do BEFORE I embossed the panel.  But, I just used my Call Me Clover Stampin’ Write Marker to clean up the images. 😉

I adhered all the flowers with Liquid Glue.  I took the last Poppy Parade flower and snipped away all but the very center and adhered it with a little Liquid Glue by the sentiment.

I used my Call Me Clover stamp pad to color the last little bit of White Baker’s Twine from the Sincerely Santa Project Kit.  Hint:  if you do this (and why wouldn’t you!?) be SURE to give the twine plenty of time to dry.  Just sayin’.

Then I tied a bow with my colored twine and adhered it to the little Poppy Parade flower.  I finished off the card front with some Share What You Love Artisan Pearls.  And that was it!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Happiness Surrounds in Call Me Clover to a Whisper White panel.  Then I stamped a flower in Poppy Parade and a couple of leaves in Call Me Clover.  I used my Mango Melody Stampin’ Write Marker to color the flower center – and added another Share What You Love pearl.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mango Melody mat and into my Poppy Parade card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more flowers and leaves on the front…

…and on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The Happiness Surrounds stamp set gives you a more non-seasonal selection of sentiments and floral images than the equally beautiful Snow Is Glistening set (which is more seasonally oriented!).  What’s so cool, though, is that BOTH sets work with the Snowfall Thinlits set.  Which is awesome!  Hope you like – and are counting the days to 1 Nov!

Finn Fan Fix

This post is not scary.

Nor filled with soaring vistas of Colorado.  We’ve done a lot of driving these past couple of days – and taking pictures while driving is usually frowned upon.

No – this post is all about cute.

Just a single picture of Clare Belle.

Attempting to reduce her three foot length into the smallest possible footprint!

No.  We do not know why.

Nor how.

But she’s darned cute, isn’t she?! 🙂
