Stampin’ Up! Festive Farmhouse Christmas Fence!

Happy Friday, y’all!  I hope this finds you hale and hearty and not in the way of that slow-as-molasses-in-winter Florence!  Really, girl – get your butt in gear and get gone!

I have a sweet and simple little card for you today – and it uses goodies that you can still procure at a tidy little discount if you  purchase my Festive Farmhouse Special Bundle.  Check it out below!  And – look what you can make with the fun Farmhouse Christmas stamp set and bundled Farmhouse Framelits.  Take a look-see:

The layout was inspired by this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge.

I started by adhering some pretty paper from the Festive Farmhouse DSP on a Mossy Meadow mat for the card front.

Next up, I cut the uber-cool fence die in the Farmhouse Framelits from a piece of Wood Textures DSP and snipped it down to the size I wanted.

I knew I wanted to pop the fence on my art panel – but I also knew (with even more certainty!!) – that I did NOT want to try to cut a ton of little Stampin’ Dimensional pieces.

So…I took a piece of Very Vanilla and embossed it in the Subtle Dynamic TIEF.  Then I used some Liquid Glue and adhered the fence to a small piece of the embossed card stock.  I aligned the top rail of the fence with the top edge of the card stock (so the pickets stick up above it).  I trimmed the excess from the sides.

See?

I set my masterpiece aside for a minute.

On a piece of Very Vanilla, I dry fit the fence and then used my Stamparatus to stamp the sentiment.  I stamped the panel in Cherry Cobbler.  On a second piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped it AGAIN in Mossy Meadow.  Then I used a small die from the Farmhouse Framelits to cut out “Christmas” and edged the label with my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker.

In the top corners, I stamped the little wreath image from Farmhouse Christmas in Mossy Meadow, then colored it with my Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blend.

I ran the panel thru the Big Shot in the Subtle Dynamic TIEF and adhered it to a Mossy Meadow mat.

I popped my fence and my “Christmas” onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used my Night Owl Thinlits to cut a couple of little pine boughs from Mossy Meadow.  I also cut some Cherry Cobbler bows with the die from the Farmhouse Framelits.  I adhered the pine boughs and bows with Liquid Glue.

I tied a bow from Cherry Cobbler Farmhouse Cotton Twine and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  Finally, I adhered the panel to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On the inside, on a Very Vanilla panel, I stamped the second sentiment from Farmhouse Christmas in Cherry Cobbler.  Over that, in stamped-off-once Crumb Cake, I added the big house image.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat and into my Thick Very Vanilla card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another Farmhouse Christmas house in Crumb Cake on the front.  I also stamped a little wreath in Mossy Meadow and colored it with my Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Markers.

…and I added a little more Festive Farmhouse DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  A beautifully decorated fence, all ready for Christmas festivities!  The Festive Farmhouse suite, with the Farmhouse Christmas stamp set and bundled Farmhouse Framelits, will help you create many wonderful Christmas projects, don’t you think!?  I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

As I write this on Thursday evening, we’re watching the Weather channel.

I mean…isn’t everyone?

Here in south Atlanta, we’re not expecting any “hurricane” weather – probably some wind and rain near the end of the weekend.

For now, at least, we’ve got humidity.

As in HU. MI. DI. TY!  Like…miserable.

So far I’ve been able to keep doing my morning walks – and (so far!), Finn has been hanging in there.

In the evening, I do a short walk to and from the barn to feed.

Finn does the “to” portion…on paw…

…gets a ginormous hose drink in the barn…

THAT’s a powerful thirst!

And then he – and his dad – keep me company on the second half of the walk.

Smart boys!

  9. Well, what can I say? I think it has all been said. Very clever of you to do the fence the way you did to avoid teeny tiny pieces of dimensionals! Love this set, though I haven’t had time to use it yet. THanks for the inspiration….daily!

Thanks, Julie – laziness is the mother-of-invention, right?!? And – you’re most welcome! 🙂
