Stampin’ Up! Festive Pop of Petals and Many Blessings

Mornin’, my peeps!  How goes your week? It’s sort of like Monday, right?  I hope you do NOT have a Monday-Tuesday! 🙂

Guess what tomorrow is?!?

Well – yea, it’s Wednesday (aka Hawwmp Day).  But…more importantly – it’s 2018 Holiday Catalog LAUNCH DAY!!

Whoo-hoo!  I know you can hardly wait – and I’m excited for you – I can’t wait to see what you’ve all put on your wish lists that you can finally – FINALLY!! – get on the way! 🙂

For today, though – I’ve got a little bit of new and a little bit of old for you!  I pulled out the Many Blessings stamp set (this one really OUGHT to be on your wish list!) and some Festive Farmhouse DSP (see previous parenthetical!) and put them with some Pop of Petals and….well.  Take a look-see:

I played along with the Fusion challenge this week – hitting both the sketch and the photo inspiration!

I started with a piece of Wood Textures DSP and used a little Liquid Glue to adhere a strip of wonderful plaid paper from the Festive Farmhouse DSP.  Then I adhered the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat for the card front.  I used some Glue Dots to wrap a length of new 5/8″ Striped Burlap Trim around the seam of the two DSPs.

On a piece of Whisper White card stock, I stamped the wreath from the Many Blessings set in Mossy Meadow.  I curled the image around to make it more wreath-like than garland-like!  Then I lightly colored the leaves with my Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker.  I added some Crushed Curry and Cherry Cobbler berries with the image in the stamp set.

Then I fussy cut the wreath and used Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (yes, quite a few! 😉 ) to adhere the wreath to the card front.

I pulled one of the flower images from the Pop of Petals stamp set (Annual Catalog) and stamped three in Daffodil Delight on Whisper White and three on Very Vanilla in Crushed Curry.  Then I punched them all with the matching bundled Four-Petal Flower Punch.

I created three flowers by adhering two flowers together with Liquid Glue.  I did two flowers with the white on top and one with the Crushed Curry on top.

Do y’all recognize that kitty?

Yep – it’s the cut-out from last night’s card! 🙂

I ran that thru the Big Shot in the Subtle Dynamic TIEF and then very lightly sponged the edges with Crumb Cake.

Then I stamped it with the Many Blessings sentiment in Cherry Cobbler.

I used some Glue Dots to wind a few loops of Linen Thread around the inside of the wreath and then I started to build the collage!

I used Liquid Glue and Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals as needed to build all the elements.  I also stuck in a few Copper Leaf Elements with Glue Dots.  Then I tied a Linen Thread Billie Bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  Over that is a double-length bow of Very Vanilla Solid Baker’s Twine.

I used my Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend to color three Pearl Basic Jewels and added them to the card front to finish it off.

On the inside, I stamped a second Many Blessings sentiment in Cherry Cobbler to a Very Vanilla panel (I only inked and used half the sentiment).  Then I added a few Crushed Curry flowers (which I also colored a bit with my Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Marker) and a Mossy Meadow corner.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat and into my Thick Very Vanilla card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

The front of my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another corner and flower…

…and I added a little more Wood Textures DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Sometimes being a hoarder-of-scraps pays off, huh?  I love this little Cat Punch guy nestled in the Pop of Petals flowers, don’t you?  And – Many Blessings is destined to be a favorite – for Fall AND for Christmas projects!  I hope you like!

Tic-Toc….not much longer to wait now!

Finn Fan Fix

My Finny likes to play ball.

His desire to chase the ball, however, is inversely proportional to the heat.

And his need to play keep away.

On a hot day – like it’s been this week, he’ll race after the ball several times – but the return is…

Sketchy…

“If I bring it back, she’s going to throw it again.”

“I could run up the hill and let her try to get the ball away from me…”

“Or….I could trot to the door and go into the house and get a drink and lay down in front of that cold air that comes from…wherever cold air comes from…”

“You get it, Mom.  I’m done with you.”

“Is that a squirrel?!?”

  1. What a sweet card! Love the little kitty punch, perfectly tucked in with those pretty flowers! And Finn…I feel your pain on the heat. I’m the same way when it comes to running around when it’s a sauna outside. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Sauna is right! Bleh! Soon. Soon it will be Fall!! 🙂 Thanks so much, Amy! 🙂

  2. Your card is absolutely wonderful. I can’t wait til you say “guess what day it is” and it’s your last day of real work! Finn is so adoreable and I always must not be taking a swig of coffee when I read your Finn stories.

    • stampsnlingers

Please don’t snort the coffee!! 😳😳😳 Glad you like the card – and yes. I’m looking forward to that day, too! 🙂

  3. Rita

Totally adorable …. so glad you featured another card with the cat punch! I’m always looking for inspiration for my current favorite punch. Love the wreath and dsp as a background. It’s so wonderful that we can, once again, enjoy Finn’s antics. Thank you for sharing him with all of us!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks much, Rita! Finn likes being in the lime-light, for sure! Have fun with your Cat Punch! 🙂

  4. Kate

If I had this card, it would be on its way to you!

  5. What a perfectly lovely card. Can’t miss with plaid, wood and a cat. Of course, you put them all together in a wonderful way.

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks very much, Julie! It IS kind of the trifecta, huh?! 🙂

  6. Susan K

You are so creative! Great use of cat from Sun night’s card! Perfect take on the sketch. What fun, playing ball, all slobbery and wet and gritty. I’d choose the cold air thingy myself! TFS.

  7. BarbGhig

Gorgeous take on the sketch and inspiration photo! I love the plaid DSP with your wreath…so heartwarming! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Fusion!

  8. Love your card it is adorable. The fallie colors are so good. I think it a good man’s card even with the flowers and bow. My granddaughter would love it, since it has a cat. Must buy the punch soon, her birthday is Sept 25.
Happy we get to have our Finn soap back so we can hear the continuing saga of his adventures. They always give a perk to the day.

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks so much, Shirley! Glad you’re enjoying the ongoing adventures of the Man! 🙂
