Stampin’ Up! Itty Bitty Greetings on Pressed Flowers for the Stamp Ink Paper #152

Mornin’, y’all!  It’s Tuesday, so that means it’s time for another Stamp Ink Paper challenge to inspire you!  Today’s a color challenge and I hope you’ll come over and play along!

My card for the challenge today is a clean and simple one, using the new Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set – filled with useful sentiments in pretty little fonts – and the lovely Pressed Flowers Host Set.  Take a look-see:

You can see our colors in the card – and here’s the challenge badge for Challenge #152!

I also tapped the sketch at the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge for my layout.

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock for the card front.  With a 2 5/8″ circle die from the Circles Layering Framelits, I cut a circle out of the middle.

On another piece of Whisper White, I adhered three 1″ wide strips of card stock with Liquid Glue – one each in Highland Heather, Granny Apple Green and Coastal Cabana.  Then I used the same circle die to cut a circle.

I stuck the colored circle in the space created in the card front and then placed it in my Stamparatus.  Using the flower image from the Pressed Flowers stamp set, inked with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, I stamped the image a few times to get it dark enough.  I pulled the layered circle out – and stamped the image one more time (yeah….STAMPARATUS!!) to close the “gap” created by the thicker circle.

I put the whole card front – with the layered circle in place – thru the Big Shot inside the Layered Leaves Dynamic TIEF.  Then I matted the Whisper White portion on a Basic Black mat.

The middle strip is a piece of the Graceful Glass 6″ x 6″ Designer Vellum – colored on the back with my Highland Heather, Granny Apple Green and Coastal Cabana Stampin’ Write Markers.  Then I adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue (just in the center where it won’t show.

I wrapped some Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine around the Vellum strip, then popped the layered circle back in place with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the Itty Bitty Greetings sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto a narrow strip of Whisper White, then I bannerized the end with my Paper Snips.  It’s adhered with Liquid Glue.

I added a Black Faceted Dot, then a double-length bow of Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine with a Glue Dot – and that was it for the card front.

On the inside, I inked the Pressed Flowers image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and stamped it off 4 times on scrap paper – then stamped it in the middle of a Whisper White panel.  Over that, in full-strength Tuxedo Black, I added a second Itty Bitty Greetings sentiment.

I adhered the panel on Basic Black with Liquid Glue and then into my Thick Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a full-strength Pressed Flowers image in Tuxedo Black on the front.  I used my Highland Heather Stampin’ Write Marker to lightly color the flowers…

…then I repeated that on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  These pretty little sentiments in the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set – which you’ll be able to get for yourself on Friday! – are just wonderful and very diverse!  Perfect for adding over simple silhouettes which are so easy to create with the Host-Exclusive Pressed Flowers stamp set.  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

I ordered some shoes the other day – you know, where they don’t have your size at the store so they order them to ship right to you?

I got them in like…four days.  Awesome.

Put the right shoe on.

Went to put the left shoe on.

See the problem?  Yea.  That’s the hard plactic/metal security thingy.  Hmmm.

So – had to go back to the store with them to get it removed.  Cuz…pretty uncomfortable.

Since – even with the perpetual rain – it was too hot to take the Man, he had to spend a few hours in the kennel.

I used the universal signal to “kennel up”.

And – it works every time!

He’s a lot quicker than I am….HURRY UP!!

He’s got the fan blowing on him, Avatar on the tv, and a lovely Busy Bone.

It’s not a bad way to spend a rainy afternoon! 🙂

  1. Kate

    Like this card. A lot.
Finny looks pretty o.k. with the rainy day plan. 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

Yep – he’s pretty easy-going about these things! And – he loves to sleep, so…it works for him! Thanks, Mom! 🙂

  2. What a beautiful card Mary! Love the layering and the embossing, perfect! Sweet pictures of Finn heading off to his kennel…yep, a fan, a moving and a treat and I’d be all set too! 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Right?? It’s like naps at school. Yes, please! Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  3. How ridiculous is that that you had to go to the store to have that removed…what were they thinking? Your card is not ridiculous though …quite an attractive CAS card to me. I love that Vellum DSP. I think they did a bang up job on the DSP this year. If we lived closer, I’d dog sit for you…Finn is just so loveable. AND just maybe, maybe I’d get to see Wilbur 🙂 Ya see, the reason I’d dog sit is ’cause I can’t stand to go shoe shopping or any kind of shopping…well except for SU shopping 🙂 Have a wonderful day even though it’s back to the old grind and you should only be stamping, writing and taking care of the Critters n Krew 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

Aww – thanks, Karen! And yes – they did an amazing job with the new DSP! If you lived closer, I’d LET you dog-sit the Man!! And…soon. Very soon….

  4. That’s weird about the shoes. Good thing the store wasn’t too far away. May you have many happy adventures in your new shoes. OH! And I liked the card. 😎🌵Wish we had some of your rain here in dryyyy NEW MEXICO.

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Sharon – and yes. I thought it was weird, too. Also…annoying! 🙂

  5. Susan K

very pretty card. Love the total embossing.
Guess the shoes didn’t have to go through the theft detectors. In my jobette at Belk, I once wrapped a Christmas present with a no-go on it–now that was aggravating!
Finnman would have lots of rainy day opportunities here!

    • stampsnlingers

I always figured they put those things on AT the store – so since this one shipped – it just seemed weird to have it on there. It DID trigger the alarm when I took them IN! Thanks, Susan! 🙂
