Stampin’ Up! Stitched All Around Sneak Peek for Stamp Ink Paper #149

Morning, y’all! This is the first of two posts for me today – I’ll be back at 8am with another card for this month’s Amy’s Inkin Krew Blog Hop.

For now, though, being that it’s Tuesday –  it’s also Stamp Ink Paper challenge day!  We’ve got a fun theme challenge for you this week!  Dads & Grads!

I don’t have anyone graduating, but it seemed like a perfect time to use the new Sitting Pretty stamp set.  I’ve been planning for this since I saw it for the first time at OnStage!  Next year – I’ll have a UGA grad to make a card for.  This is…practice for that day!  I combined the bulldog image from Sitting Pretty (a new set in the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog) with a few sentiments from Stitched All Around (also coming on 1 June), a couple from the new Itty Bitty Greetings and I made a custom sentiment with the Make a Difference stamp set! 🙂  Take a look-see:

Here’s the challenge badge for SIP #149 – hope you’ll come and play along!

My layout is from this week’s Sunday Stamps sketch challenge.

I started with some pretty (or handsome, depending on who’s getting the card!) paper from the new Share What You Love Specialty DSP, double matted on Basic Black and Real Red for the card front.

The bottom strip is Basic Black and Real Red – adhered with Liquid Glue – then I used Tear & Tape Adhesive to add some 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon.  Above that is a length of new Real Red 1/8″ Solid Ribbon.

I stamped the sentiment, from the Stitched All Around stamp set, in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Crumb Cake card stock and cut it with the largest Stitched Shapes Framelits circle die, then I adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

The bulldog is from the new Sitting Pretty stamp set.  On a piece of Whisper White, I stamped the outline image in Soft Suede, then used the fill in image – also in Soft Suede.  I hand-lettered the “G” and used my Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker to color in his shirt.  Then I fussy cut him.

He’s mounted on a couple of circle elements.  The Real Red element is cut with a die in the Stitched Labels Framelits (which you’ll be able to get on 1 June, bundled with the Stitched All Around stamp set!).  It turns out that that circle fits perfectly on a 1 3/4″ circle – which I cut from Basic Black with my 1 3/4″ Circle Punch.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere them together.

I punched out a 1 3/8″ Scallop Circle in Crumb Cake, then stamped an Itty Bitty Greetings sentiment (1 June) in Crumb Cake all over it.  I added that with Liquid Glue and then popped Uga on with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I popped the circle element on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card front was done!

On the inside, I wanted to do something a little different, so I matted more of the Share What You Love Specialty DSP on Real Red.  As I was figuring out the sizing on the remainder of the panel, I realized I could make it into a gift card holder!

So – I cut a Basic Black mat and added some Foam Adhesive Strips to the back to form a pocket for the gift card.

The inner liner itself is a piece of Very Vanilla.  I punched four flourishes with the new Detailed Trio Punch.  Then I added an Itty Bitty Greetings sentiment on all four sides in Real Red, and one in the middle in Tuxedo Black.

I adhered the panel to the dimensionalized Basic Black mat and then popped it onto the Share What You Love panel, and used Liquid Glue to add it into my Crumb Cake card base.  I popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got a custom sentiment in Real Red – I used the Make a Difference stamp set – and another Uga from Sitting Pretty on the front…

Et Voila!  I kind of wish he was graduating this year – cuz I sorta love this card!  The Sitting Pretty stamp set – which will have a matching die set called the Pretty Park Framelits – is a lot of fun (and just so happens to be perfect for the UGA mascot!).  And how cool is it to be able to make any sentiment EVER with the Make A Difference stamp set (which you can get right now in one of the early release bundles down below!)?!?  I hope you like! 🙂

Finn Fan Fix

Y’all – things are really pretty much back to normal here – Finn-wise!

He’s proven to me that he remembers he live here – and has to stick around.

Just like pre-kick.

So – Helicopter Mom (aka – me!) has pulled pitch and backed off a little.

Which means that…on a warm spring day in GA, a dog can do what a dog wants to do.

Nap under the golf cart!

Life is good in Finn-landia!

Thank the Lord. 🙂

  1. What a cool card! Love the gift card holder inside, great design! So glad that things are back to normal in Finn-land. Nothing better than sleeping under the golf card on a hot day! 🙂

  3. Love your card. My set is on its way finally. Our friends have a bull dog who just went to the rainbow bridge. She was only 4. Her name was Bella and I’ll be using this stamp for a sympathy card 🙁 BUT, I’m doing my happy dance for what’s going on in Finn land!

    • stampsnlingers

Oh dear – that’s so sad. English Bull’s have a notoriously short lifesoan. Which is zero comfort for your friends. I know your card WILL be a comfort, though! Thanks so much, Karen! 🙂
