Stampin’ Up! Accented Blooms Sneak Peek on Garden Impressions

Hey, folks – happy Monday!

I’m not usually a fibber, so…let me re-phrase.

Heeeeyyy – it’s Monday….Bleh… 😉

If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook live video, I surely do appreciate you spending some time with me on your weekend!  If not, but you’d like to see how I made this card, here’s the replay for you!

I used another new goody (my pre-order arrived on Friday!) from the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.  This one, called Accented Blooms, works perfectly with the carrying-over Tailored Tag punch!  I used that – and also some more of the beautiful and gorgeous and wondrous Garden Impressions DSP.  Take a look-see:

I started with one of my favorite designs in the new Garden Impressions DSP (coming to you on 1 June) and matted it on Pacific Point card stock with Liquid Glue.

My center layer is So Saffron.  I inked up the large and lovely central image in the new Accented Blooms (1 June) stamp set with Versamark Ink and stamped it in the corner.  Then I sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.

With my Watercolor Pencils – Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Melon Mambo and Calypso Coral – I lightly shaded the flowers and leaves.  Not a lot – just a little!

I decided to add the little cut-out in the corner with the new Detailed Trio Punch and then matted the panel on Pacific Point.

I wrapped a length of Whisper White Baker’s Twine around the panel and secured it in the back with a little Tear & Tape Adhesive.

For the sentiment, I inked the image from Accented Blooms in Night of Navy and stamped it on Whisper White.  Then I fussy cut it – I wanted it smaller than the Tailored Tag punch.  With that punch, I punched a piece of Pacific Point.  Then I adhered that punched out shape to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I wrapped a length of Whisper White Baker’s Twine around the panel and secured it in the back with a little Tear & Tape Adhesive.  I popped the fussy cut sentiment over the top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used some Glue Dots to adhere a couple of Petal Passion Embellishments and a little White Baker’s Twine bow to the card.  Finally, I added some So Saffron pearls from the new Share What You Love Artisan Pearls.

On the inside, I added a couple of the smaller flower images from Accented Blooms in So Saffron, then colored them with my Daffodil Delight Watercolor Pencil and with a Blender Pen and Pear Pizzazz ink.  I also punched the Detailed Trio Punch in the corner.

I adhered the panel to a Pacific Point mat and into my So Saffron card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

On the front of my Whisper White Medium Envelope, I stamped a couple more Accented Blooms images in So Saffron and colored them as I’d done on the inner liner..

…and I used a little more of the Garden Impressions DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Man, oh man I love this paper so much!  I can’t wait until y’all can get it in your hot little hands!  And the Accented Blooms is a beautiful stamp set – working perfectly with the Tailored Tag punch!  Hope you like!

Speaking of getting DSP….please get signed up for Shares if you want them!  I’m starting to fill up and have to limit the number of shares I can do this time around!

Finn Fan Fix

So – I tried my darnedest to get a picture of the actual “event”.

But.  Panthers – nature’s perfect hunter – are fast fast FAST!

Even older, slightly overweight, miniature panthers.

Of the Shorthair Domesticated variety.

Finn was bugging Leo.

He does that.

Quite a bit, actually.

Well – Leo was So.  Over.  It.

So he slapped Finn’s face.

BapbapbapbapBAP!

No claws.  Just his little soft hand. You can see how it upset Finn…

It worried Finn so much that he just stood there.

So – Leo bapbapbap’d him again to drive the lesson home.

Not sure what this face means.

Oh wait.  Yes, I am.  It means….excuse me.  You will not sit on my mom’s lap.

No matter how many times you bapbapbap me! I will stand firm!

😉

    Hi Mary,
This card is gorgeous… thanks for sharing. Are the magnetic squares you use for your die cuts from Stamp and Stor or something else?

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks so much, Bernice! And yes – they’re all from StampNStorage – and I love them! 🙂

  6. animals are SO funny! I watched the video, and listened to all of it, again this morning. Can’t believe how much one misses while taking a phone call! Great video, and lovely card. I am still not sure of the paper. It is so busy and I don’t usually like that. However, I like the back sides, so probably will get it. You used the busy-ness well on this card, which made it not-so-busy!

    • stampsnlingers

I know – it’s busy…but…so pretty!! The colors are so vibrant and beautiful! Thanks very much, Julie! 🙂

  7. Kathy Fennell

OMG Mary I’m still laughing! Finn & Leo both standing their ground. You sure don’t lack in entertainment now do you? Really nice card Mary and even though it is very pretty paper I am busy paper challenged, lol! But I could just case your card and make a lot of them, BAMM problem solved! As always great video last night Mary, you are my Sunday after dinner must watch before anything else gets done. Have a good day Mary…. 🙂 & thanks for sharing!

    • stampsnlingers

CASE at will, Kathy!! That’s part of the deal-y-o! And thank you SO much for the nice words about my Sunday night videos! Means a lot to me. 🙂
