Stampin’ Up! Special Celebrations In Every Season Sneak Peek for Stamp Ink Paper #145

Mornin’, y’all!  It’s Tuesday so…time for another Stamp Ink Paper challenge!

I decided to use a stamp set from the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog – and it’s one that I WON on a Prize Patrol!  It’s called In Every Season – and it’s one that grabbed my eye the moment I saw it as I flipped thru the glorious pages of the catty!

Notice there are 12 flowers?  Perfect for a 12-month calendar. Or a sampler.  Or an inchie card!

I used one of the flowers – and a sentiment from the Special Celebrations stamp set (carrying over!) – plus some ombre sponging to make my card.  Take a look-see:

Our Stamp Ink Paper challenge #145 is a technique challenge and it’s…Ombre!!

And I picked the colors from this week’s Global Design Project color challenge.

I started by masking off my “window” with some of the 1″ wide washi in the Pick a Pattern Washi Tape pack.  I just lined the edge of the tape up with the edge of my Whisper White panel and did four strips around!

Then, starting at the top, I used a Sponge Dauber to sponge Night of Navy – darker at the top and then fading out to the middle.  Then I came up from the bottom with Tranquil Tide.  My version of Ombre today!

Next up, I laid the brick patterned mask from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks set over the sponged window.  I pulled a little glob of the Shimmery White Embossing Paste out onto my Silicone craft sheet and, with my Crumb Cake Re-inker, colored it up!  When it was as dark as I wanted, I smeared it across the mask.  Then I pulled off the mask – and the washi mask strips – and set the panel aside to dry!

While the embossing paste was drying, I used my Stamparatus to ink the lovely flower from the In Every Season stamp.  I placed a piece of Vellum card stock into the Stampapotamus and then picked up the stamp with the acrylic panel.  Using my Tranquil Tide Stampin’ Write Marker, I inked up the leaves and stamped them.  Didn’t like it – so inked it again and stamped it again.

Did that three times (thank you, Stampapotamus!).  Then repeated it with the Night of Navy Marker on the flowers.  Then I cleaned the stamp – without removing it – and stamped the whole image again in Versamark.  I pulled the Vellum out of the Stamparatus – sprinkled it with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder – and heat embossed it.

I punched the image out with the Starburst Punch.  Next, I colored it with the Stampin’ Write Markers.

For the sentiment, I stamped the Special Celebrations sentiment in Crumb Cake on Whisper White, then cut it out with the banner die in the Bunch of Banners Framelits.  I edged it in Tranquil Tide, then adhered it to the Vellum flower circle with a little Liquid Glue.  I put some Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back – behind the flowers and the sentiment.  Then I used those to wind some Silver Metallic Thread in loops – and popped it all over the card front.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Tranquil Tide mat, added some Silver Metallic Enamel Shapes and card front was done!

On the inside, I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to add a second Special Celebrations sentiment in Crumb Cake on a Whisper White panel.  Then I added the flower from In Every Season in Night of Navy – that I stamped off THREE times first!

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Tranquil Tide mat and then into my Crumb Cake card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium envelope got a Night of Navy In Every Season flower on the front…

…and I did the same on the back, straddling the edge of the flap!

Et Voila!  In Every Season!!  Wow – what a beautiful gorgeous lovely awesome stamp set!  And the carrying over Special Celebrations provides tons of wonderful sentiments to complement all your image stamp sets!  Hope you like!

  1. Pretty card! Love that stamp set too. 🙂 Sweet picture of Finn all scrunched up in his effort to make sure that you know that he missed you. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Yes – he made his thoughts pretty clear! Poor little guy all squished up… 🙂 Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  2. Pat

Beautiful card! I love the vellum, I need to use it more often.
Silly Mr. Finn, he missed his mama! 😍

    • stampsnlingers

He really did! 🙂 Thanks, Pat – I forget to use Vellum, too! 🙂

  3. Poor, poor Finn. He must have been traumatized! Not to make you feel guilty or anything. My cat becomes my shadow after I have been gone, to the point that I have to look before I take a step or will step on her!
I love your card, though it is a departure from your usual style. A bit more of a contemporary feel.
I do have a question. You inked the flower and leaves on vellum with markers, then with versamark and heat embossed it. Cut it with the starburst punch. Then you say, “Next, I colored it with the Stampin’ Write Markers.”
I don’t get that part. Can you explain?

    • stampsnlingers

      No guilt.

      Well. Not much, anyway! 🙂

I should have taken a close-up, I guess. That last sentence means I colored the flowers and leaves in with the markers. I’d originally thought I’d leave them open – but I didn’t like it. So I colored them in. Sorry for the confusion! 🙂

  4. Pretty card I, too, need to use my vellum more often. I wonder if Finn remembers the last time you packed up you were in Utah for a long time and wants to be sure you don’t do it again? He is so precious.

    • stampsnlingers

He surely could – he’s that smart! And yes – he’s a sweet sweet boy! Thanks much, Karen! 🙂
