Happy Easter, y’all! Rejoice in the miracle of this day!
So – bad news first. 🙁 I’m not going to be doing a FB Live video tonight – sorry! I’m cooking today and going to our friends’ for dinner, so…it’s just not in the cards. And – I suspect y’all have plans of your own! So – we’ll make a date and meet again next Sunday!
The good news is that I have a whole card – with instructions! – to share with you right now! No sneak peek! 🙂
I felt that an Easter card was called for, so I went to my Hold On To Hope bundle – which includes the Cross of Hope Framelits. I added in some leaves from the wonderful Petals & More Framelits and a pretty little sentiment from You’re Inspiring. Take a look-see:
The layout for this white and gold card is from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.
And I played along with the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge – going right down the middle column.
I started with a plain piece of Whisper White card stock, matted on Gold Foil, for the card front. To make the “embossed” pattern, I adhered a piece of Whisper White card stock to a Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet and then cut two of the large and lovely leaf die cuts with the Petals & More Thinlits. After peeling the backing off, I added each leaf die cut to the card front.
I embossed another strip of Whisper White in the Petal Pair TIEF (the one with the flowers!), matted it on a piece of Gold Foil, and adhered it to the card front with Fast Fuse.
I cut a Whisper White solid Cross with the Cross of Hope die as well as an intricate Cross from Gold Foil and used Liquid Glue to adhere them together. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back to wind some Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine and Gold Metallic Thread into a few loops, then popped the Cross onto the card front.
I inked the sentiment from Hold On To Hope in Versamark, stamped it on Whisper White and sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Then I heat embossed it with my Heat Tool. When it was cool, I cut it with the matching die from the Cross of Hope Framelits. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals on each end to pop it over the Cross.
I added a single heart shaped gold Metallic Enamel Shape and the card front was done!
On the inside, I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to heat emboss a sentiment from the You’re Inspiring stamp set in Gold to a Whisper White panel, then I added another Whisper White Adhesive-Sheet-backed Petals & More Thinlits leaf image. I also added a little heart shaped gold Metallic Enamel Shape.
I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Gold Foil mat and then into my Thick Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Petals & More Thinlits die cut – adhered with the Adhesive Sheets – on the front…
…and I added some more of the Wood Textures DSP to the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I love the tone-on-tone effect with the pops of Gold, don’t you? The Hold On To Hope stamp set and bundled Cross of Hope Framelits is a lovely set – suitable for Christmas, Easter, sympathy, condolences and more – and you need it in your tool chest soon! Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix
While we were at the vet the other day, waiting in the exam room…we discovered that…
Vets do the same thing people-doctors do. They have you wait in the waiting room for a bit – until everyone starts to get restless. Then they move you to an exam room – a nurse or tech asks you some questions and leaves.
And then you wait some more…but, now you’re pretty sure SOMEthing is going to happen very very soon, so…your impatience is quieted for a bit!
Since you’re pretty sure the door will open at any moment – and the doctor will come in, tell you what’s wrong, give you some pills and you can go home and get back to your day – you watch the door intently.
Then, as the realization sets in that you’ve been duped, you give up and lay down…get comfortable and resign yourself to more waiting…
But then – from the waiting room…a sound!
Finn’s not a fan of sounds he can’t readily identify!
I recognized it for what it was – a cat totally irked beyond reason. No doubt in a kennel. Just came from a car ride. Probably with dogs – yuk!! – surrounding him.
Yoooooowwwwwwlllllll!!!
Finn. Did. Not. Like. It. 😉

Imagine YOU are waiting for the Dr. and someone in the next room screams….you. wouldn’t. like. it. either! Poor guy.
A stunningly beautiful card. It is a winner for sure! I love the white and gold.
A happy Easter to you, Wayne and Finn. Cold here and perhaps snow! Is this a Nature’s April Fool joke?
You are entitled to an evening off. It IS a holiday!
True! I’d probably walk right out the door and never look back! He was brave to hang with it! Thanks very much, Julie – hope your day is wonderful – if COLD! 🙂
Joyous Easter to you, family and friends. It’s not in the cards for tonight…I saw what you did there! It’s a wondrous card you made! Oh, I totally get how Finn did not like that yowl. When we had our cat up north, we had to ride with the windows wide open in the winter time…he did not like that ride! Once he got to the vet, he was as good as could be though. The trip home was equally as bad. I hope you have a wonderful day and enjoy the evening off.
Nope – mine don’t do well in the car, either! Poor babies! 🙁 Glad you caught my little pun! Thanks so much – and Happy Easter to you and yours, Karen! 🙂
What a beautiful, elegant card, pefect for this special day. Celebrate the joyful day with family and friends–and the evening off. Happy Easter.
Thank you so much, Susan! Hope your day is wonderful as you celebrate! 🙂
Beautiful card!! Happy Easter to you and your family!
Thanks so much, Susan – and the same to you and yours! 🙂
‘Specially when feeling peely wally!

All the blessings of Easter to everyone.
Yep! ‘Specially then! Thanks, Mom – and the same to you! 🙂
What a beautiful card Mary! The layers of white on white with the gold touches is just perfect with your design. I love it! Enjoy your Easter! 🙂
Thanks so much, Amy! And you as well! 🙂
Beautiful card with a sentiment change on the inside could also be used for confirmation or communions.. Thanks for sharing.
I must be lucky as none of my dogs were ever fearful of the car or the vets….
Finn loves the car and loves the vet! He just didn’t like that squalling cat!! 🙂 You’re right, Bernice – this card would do lots of duties with a simple change on the inside! Thanks so much! 🙂
Mary, your card is very versatile, exquisitely beautiful, and perfect in every way! A card like yours can be changed various ways for different occasions, this is definitely one for the record books 📚. Maybe I should say for the iCloud, Dropbox,OneDrive or google drive! Happy Easter! Enjoy your day and night off.

Thanks so much, Amy! I appreciate you stopping by! 🙂
This card is just gorgeous! I love the gold cross and that embossed background. So elegant and just perfect for Easter! Poor Finn! Thankfully my cat doesn’t make a peep when she travels to the vet or while she’s at the vet. She does however shed more fur than I actually think she has!!! Thanks for joining us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!
Thanks so much, Jen – appreciate you stopping by! 🙂
This is one of the prettiest cards I’ve seen using this stamp set. The additional elements are just perfect. Thanks for sharing it at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge, Mary.
