Stampin’ Up! You’re Inspiring on a Coppery Basket Weave

Merry Monday, y’all!  Well…it IS Monday – you decide if it’s Merry or not!

If you were able to join me last night for my FB Live video, I appreciate you spending part of your weekend with me!  If not, but you’d like to watch and see how I made today’s card, here’s a link to the YouTube replay!

I was celebrating the arrival of my little yellow daffodils – they took last year “off”! – and made this card with the gorgeous flower image from the You’re Inspiring stamp set.  And, after seeing a card on Pinterest (thanks for sending it, Elisha!), I wanted to try the technique.  Take a look-see:

The layout for my card comes from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

And several elements are from the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge – I went right across the middle row.

And the inspiration for the embossed-embossing came from Kim Oliver – you can check out the original right here! 🙂

I started with a piece of Soft Suede card stock that I ran thru the Big Shot in my Basket Weave Dynamic TIEF.  Then I used the Versamark pad and lightly ran it over the top of the embossed image.  I made sure to get plenty of ink on the card stock, but I was also careful to not get it into the “negative” portions.  Then I sprinkled it with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heated it up!  Once it was all cool, I matted it on Always Artichoke.

For the art, I heat embossed the beautiful daffodils from the You’re Inspiring stamp set on Very Vanilla in Copper.  While I was at it, I embossed it another couple of times on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  After those were cool, I used my Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Markers to color the images.  The flowers that I’d stamped on the scrap card stock I fussy cut.

With the dots image in the stamp set, I stamped around the flowers in Soft Suede that I stamped off at least once – usually I stamped it off twice.  I used my Soft Suede Marker to “stitch” around the image.

I matted the panel on Always Artichoke and Fast Fuse’d it to the card front.  Then I wrapped a piece of Linen Thread around the whole thing a couple of times and tied it off with a simple knot.

I used my Starburst Punch to cut a piece of Copper Foil, then I embossed it in the Basket Weave Dynamic TIEF and repeated the heat embossing treatment with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  It’s adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the sentiment from You’re Inspiring in Soft Suede on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock and punched it with the Tailored Tag Punch.  I added Soft Suede stitches and popped it over the copper Starburst with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used Mini and regular Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop my fussy cut flowers over the card front, added a few Always Artichoke Enamel Shapes and the card front was done!

On the inside,  I inked the second flower image in Soft Suede and stamped it off three times, then stamped it in the center of a Very Vanilla panel.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to an Always Artichoke mat and into my Daffodil Delight card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got a full-strength Soft Suede You’re Inspiring flowers image – and some stamped-off-twice dots – across the front…

…and a stamped-off-twice image on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love this embossing-the-embossing technique, don’t you?!?  Yet another fun thing to do with the Basket Weave Dynamic TIEF – do you have yours yet?!?  And this daffodil from You’re Inspiring is one of my favorite flower images we’ve ever had – it’s absolutely gorgeous!!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

So – I convinced Finn to read my blog post the other day about his choice of sleeping spots.

And all your comments.

He realized he might have hurt my feelings.

Picking a hard metal rail over sitting by me with his head so-cutely laying on my slippered foot.

No fool, and fully aware of which side his bread is buttered on (and who, exactly, holds the butter knife), he quickly made ammends.

Working for you, Mom?

Yea.  It totally worked. 🙂
