Stampin’ Up! Sweet Witty Birthday Cupcake for the Stamp Ink Paper #132

Hey, y’all!  Welcome to Tuesday and another Stamp Ink Paper challenge!  I hope you’ll come and play along with us!

I grabbed a couple of likely-seeming stamp sets and some dies – settling on the Birthday Wit (2018 Occasions) and the Sweet Cupcake (Annual) stamp sets, and the Cupcake Cutout Framelits.  Then I added some Picture Perfect Birthday DSP from the Occasions catalog and…take a look-see:

I grabbed a couple of likely-seeming stamp sets and some dies – settling on the Birthday Wit (2018 Occasions) and the Sweet Cupcake (Annual) stamp sets, and the Cupcake Cutout Framelits.  Then I added some Picture Perfect Birthday DSP from the Occasions catalog and…take a look-see:

Because I needed a little help – on top of the theme! 😉 – I took a gander at the Viva La Verve sketch for help with the layout…

I started with a graphic paper from the Picture Perfect Birthday DSP Stack (one side is graphics and the other side is photos!) and Fast Fuse’d it to a Lemon Lime Twist mat for the card front.

The horizontal element is a simple strip of Whisper White, embossed in the new Simple Stripes TIEF, matted on Lemon Lime Twist and Fast Fuse’d to the card front.

Then I used one of those fun photo-papers, and matted it on Lemon Lime Twist.  I used Stampin’ Dimensionals and Liquid Glue to adhere it.  I wrapped a length of Lemon Lime Twist 3/8″ Mini Striped Ribbon around the whole thing, securing it in the back with some Fast Fuse.

I created a cupcake with the Sweet Cupcakes stamp set – this is three-step stamp set – I used Peekaboo Peach for the “frosting” and Pool Party for the cupcake paper.  These stamps are made so that you can use just one color and you still get great 3-D images! 🙂  I cut them both out with their matching die in the Cupcake Cutouts Framelits.  Then I decided I didn’t want white borders – so I snipped the excess off.

I stamped some candles in Berry Burst and Bermuda Bay ink and fussy cut them (same reason – didn’t want the white border!).  I adhered a couple to the card front with Liquid Glue and a couple of Mini Dimensionals,  Then I adhered the cupcake liner over the ribbon with Liquid Glue and popped the frosting on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added the rest of the candles with Liquid Glue.  To decorate the cupcake, I used Tutti-Frutti Adhesive Backed Sequins and Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

For the sentiment, I colored the stamp from Birthday Wit using Stampin’ Write Markers – Peekaboo Peach, Bermuda Bay, Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist – and stamped it on a piece of scrap Whisper White.  Then I fussy cut the colored words.  I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to add just the words “This is” to the card front in Berry Burst, then adhered the words with Liquid Glue.

To finish up, I tied a faux bow with a short length of the Lemon Lime Twist 3/8″ Mini Striped Ribbon and the card front was done!

On the inside, I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to add two more sentiments from Birthday Wit in Berry Burst and Bermuda Bay.  Then across the bottom I added some sparkles from Birthday Wit in Daffodil Delight.  Each “sparkler” got a Sweet Cupcakes candle in Berry Burst or Bermuda Bay.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Lemon Lime Twist mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

I repeated the sparkler candles across the front of my Whisper White Medium Envelope…

…and gave the envelope flap some more of the Picture Perfect Birthday DSP – you kinda knew that was coming, didn’t you?!!

Et Voila!  Not my usual kind of card, for sure, but I like it!  I love the sentiments from Birthday Wit – they’re so cute and fun!  And the Picture Perfect DSP is a perfect foil for those sentiments and the cupcakes from the Sweet Cupcake stamp set!  Hope you like!
