Stampin’ Up! Thankful Thoughts on a Painted Autumn

Happy Tuesday!  Are y’all out shopping with 2.7 million of your closest friends or are you, like me, hunkered down in the relative safety of your home?  I’m thankful for leftovers, but I’m pretty certain that if all I had in the house was a bottle of hot sauce I wouldn’t go out on the day after Christmas.

Nuh-huh!

So – early on Christmas morning, I got up – I have no idea why – and made some cards to share with you today.  I needed them to come together quickly so I could get on with the pressing business of the day.  Chiefly, preparing this…

Once again – perfect Prime Rib.  Thank you, Chef John of Allrecipes!!  Took this picture before anyone started on the platter – there was some left, but…not a ton! 🙂

I made 6 cards – all identical in layout with the sentiment from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set, and a couple different papers from the Painted Autumn DSP.  Take a look-see:

A few days ago, my friend Amy Koenders made some cards with the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set and a similar layout.  Which I liked so much that I picked it up and did just a little modification.  You can see the cards that inspired me right here!

These were fun and quick to make, y’all – and how cute would they be as a little gift set?

I started with a card base – I used Thick Very Vanilla, Soft Sky and So Saffron – cut to 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and scored and folded at 4 1/4″.

Each card has a smaller piece of the Painted Autumn DSP adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I inked the sentiment from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set in Early Espresso and, with my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, lined it up and stamped each card base.

Then I wrapped a piece of Linen Thread twice around the card base and tied a little bow.  A Rhinestone Basic Jewel finished off the card fronts.

On the inside, I adhered another piece of the same Painted Autumn DSP to the inside of the card with Liquid Glue.  Then I matted a piece of Very Vanilla on either Early Espresso or Cajun Craze – depending on the DSP choice – and adhered that with Fast Fuse.

And, folks, that was it for the card!

Each envelope got a matching envelope flap with the same DSP I’d used on the cards.  Apparently, I’m in a food coma and didn’t take a picture of the envelope flap with the sunflowers.  Trust me – they’re a real thing!

Et Voila!  Easy peasy – a super quick way to use up some DSP if you’ve got extra and make some really pretty thank you cards!  It IS the season for thank you cards, after all!  One quick stamp with a Thankful Thoughts sentiment and some cutting and glueing and…done!

Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

You guys know that Finn fancies himself a lap dog, right?  All 65 pounds of him.

I’ve taken to sitting on the sofa so there’s more room for him – when he’s in the mood for some lap time.

It’s a big sofa, y’all – four cushions long.

Those are wasted cushions – we really only need one!

Please notice – in this too dark picture – his hind-end is on….me.  Not the sofa.  I’ve got his bone in my right hand holding it for him to gnaw on.

Thankfully he’s not spoiled at all – that would be a real shame!

What?!?
