Stampin’ Up! Gourd Goodness for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We’ve got a full roster playing with today’s sketch challenge, so be sure to check ’em all out when you get done here!

Here’s our fun little sketch…

I decided to go vintage-y and Fall-y with the Gourd Goodness stamp set – and a little sentiment from the Merry Cafe set.  Take a look-see:

This layout also works with the challenge over at the Global Design Project this week.

Screen Shot 2017-09-14 at 07.07.05

I started with a Very Vanilla panel and stamped the Marbled Background image on it in Crumb Cake ink.  Then I used the die from the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits to cut the tiny holes across the top and bottom of the panel.  Using the detailed leaf image in Gourd Goodness, I stamped the image in Versamark across the panel, sprinkled it with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed the leaves.  Then I sponged the panel with Crumb Cake ink – darker on the edges, but getting the whole panel.  Once I was happy with it, I used Fast Fuse and Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Old Olive mat.

For my art work, I used the two step pumpkin image from Gourd Goodness, on Very Vanilla.  I stamped the first image in Peekaboo Peach and the second in stamped-off-once Pumpkin Pie.  I cut the image out with an Ovals Layering Framelits die, then tore and sponged the edges in Crumb Cake.

I pulled out the Merry Cafe stamp set and inked just the words Hello Fall in Versamark and stamped it on the oval, sprinkled it with Copper Emboss powder and heated it up.  I liked that so much that I rolled the edges of the torn oval across the Versamark pad and heat embossed that edge in Copper, too.

With a bunch of Glue Dots on the back, I wound Linen Thread in several loops behind the oval then popped it on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Needing some pumpkin stems, I stamped a long one and a short one in Old Olive on Very Vanilla (these are two-step stamps, too) and gave them a quick fussy cut.  Then I added them with a dab of Liquid Glue.

I added a length of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon and a short piece of 1/4″ Copper Trim (that I’d pulled apart into a net) across the art oval with some Liquid Glue.  Then I tied a bow with more Copper Trim – also pulled into a net – and added it with a Glue Dot.  And that was it for the card front.

On the inside, I cut the strip across the top and bottom of a Very Vanilla panel with the die from the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits.  Then I added the detailed leaf image from Gourd Goodness up the side of the panel in Crumb Cake and sponged the whole panel in Crumb Cake.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to an Old Olive mat and into my Pumpkin Pie card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

The Front of my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more of the Gourd Goodness leaves and some sponging in Crumb Cake…

…and I masked off the envelope flap with sticky notes and stamped the Marbled background in Crumb Cake, and added more Good Goodness leaves and some sponging.

Et Voila!  I like how the Gourd Goodness pumpkins pop against the subdued Crumb Cake tones on the rest of the card.  And those images are so life-like, don’t you think?  Hope you like!

Very nice! Fall on the way…have two aspen out front with golden clusters…and several full trees turned on the road in. They are always the first. Your card fits perfectly the mood of the day…and the mode too!
