Stampin’ Up! Painted Harvest Gather Together

Good mornin’, y’all!  Hope this finds you well – and safe (particularly if you’re in the path of Harvey and dealing with the ongoing havoc he wrought – and is wreaking!).

Folks are snapping up my Painted Autumn bundles, but today I want to give the rest of you a little nudge-nudge.  So I made a card to help convince you that you need one of these bundles! I’ll just let the Painted Harvest stamp set, Leaf Punch and Painted Autumn DSP do the persuading, shall I?  Take a look-see:

Painted Harvest Gather Together - Stamps-N-Lingers 4

While I took all the color palette inspiration from the Suite itself, I let the fine folks at CAS(E) This Sketch lend me an assist on the layout.

Screen Shot 2017-08-28 at 12.30.46

I started with some Crumb Cake card stock and then inked up the flower images in the Painted Harvest stamp set, also in Crumb Cake.  I stamped the images – both of them, remember, this is two step! – all across the panel.  When I stamped the first image (the less-defined, larger flower), I stamped it multiple times for each flower, rotating it a little with each stamp.

Painted Harvest Gather Together - Stamps-N-Lingers 1I added the little three-dot image a couple of times in the middle – sunflower seeds, I’m betting! – and then double matted the panel.  First on an Early Espresso mat and then on Garden Green.

My middle panel is a piece of the Painted Autumn DSP, matted on Early Espresso and Garden Green, then Fast Fuse’d to the card front.

I adhered a short strip of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon to the middle panel with Liquid Glue.

For the leaves, I stamped the leaf images (both of them) in Garden Green on Garden Green card stock, punched them out with the Leaf Punch, and creased each leaf.  Then I adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I fussy cut a couple of flowers from the Painted Autumn DSP and adhered the larger one with Liquid Glue.  The smaller flower I popped on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment, from Painted Harvest, is stamped in Early Espresso on Crumb Cake card stock.  I inked and stamped the phrases and the ampersand separately, then snipped them out.  The edges are colored with my Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker.  Then I adhered them to the flowers with Liquid Glue.

I made a multi-loop bow with Linen Thread and adhered it to the card front with a Glue Dot, then tied a smaller bow from Crushed Curry Solid Baker’s Twine and adhered it over the Linen Thread Bow.  And that was it for the card front.

On the inside, I stamped another Painted Harvest flower using Crushed Curry, on a Very Vanilla panel.  I stamped the first image several times, rotating it for each stamp.  Then I came back and repeated it with the second image – again multiple times, and rotating the stamp.  The middle is stamped in Crumb Cake – I did it twice, rotating between stamps.  Then I added “sunflower seeds” with the three-dot image in Crumb Cake.

Painted Harvest Gather Together - Stamps-N-Lingers 6

I matted the panel on Early Espresso and Garden Green and then Fast Fuse’d it into my Thick Very Vanilla card base, added the card front with more Fast Fuse, and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another Painted Harvest flower in Crushed Curry and Crumb Cake on the front…

…and some more of the Painted Autumn DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love this Suite so much – that stamped flower is exquisite and the designer paper complements it perfectly.  It can be fresh and bright and summery or it can go vintage-antique-y.  So many possibilities!  I hope you like.

Read on for all the details in the bundles – and grab the one you need before these special prices go away on Thursday afternoon!!

Finn-Fan Fix

I mentioned on my video the other night that Finn and I had gone over for a playdate with his sister, Scout.

He’d go do that every day, if he could.  Or…twelve times a day!

They’d both end up pretty danged fit if he did.  And have no excess energy for shenanigans!

Y’all – they must have run 25 miles.  In a circle around the lawn chairs we were all sitting in.  If they weren’t running, they were wrestling…

Every once in a while, they’d flop on the ground for a minute or two to catch their breath.

IMG_9610

And at one point, Finn went to the big water bowl to take a self-imposed timeout.  A little guy-time.  Contemplate Maybelle-the-cow and get his breath back.  And have a little sip of water.

IMG_9609

Possibly ambush his sister if she decided she needed a drink, too.

IMG_9612

They had a bang-up good time!! 🙂

  1. Wow Mary, your card is stunning! Your background almost looks like suede, perfectly created! Love everything about it! 🙂 Glad that Finn had fun on his play date…hope that he came home and crashed like a good boy when he got home too!

    • Thanks so much, Amy – I “see” suede every time I look at it, too! Love it! And yes – he’s a pretty good crasher under normal circumstances. He went down hard after his playdate! 🙂

  2. At first glance, I thought, “How did Mary get such a sharp, crisp image from her stamps for the sunflowers?” Then, you reminded me…they were fussy cut from the DSP! Silly girl I am. But, I am smart for getting this bundle as a demonstrator and hope your clients will hop to it and order them from you! Your card is magnificent. Finn and Scout are just a couple of cute pups! When is Finn’s birthday?

    • LOL! Thanks so much, Karen – I hope a few more folks will take advantage of my bundles, too! Finn turned 1 at the end of May!

      • Ellie Peckler

Mary, your card is so beautiful. Autumn is my favorite time to make cards. Look forward to getting the painted harvest bundle! And don’t get me started on the Finn Fan Fix! – Ellie

      • You’re going to love this bundle so much, Ellie!! Can’t wait to see what you make with it! Thanks very much. 🙂

  3. Beautifully done, Mary. The background images really are a perfect touch, and the addition of your bows really are a show stopper!

  4. Elisha

Wow!! Gorgeous card! Beautiful background, perfect fussy cutting – and that bow! Well done! Finn and Scout are certainly two peas in a pod – so full of energy😀 What fun!

    • They really are. The green collar is sometimes the only thing that lets you tell them apart as they’re rolling around! Thanks so much, Elisha!! 🙂

  5. Kate

Well…one beautimous card!!! Wish I had 3 or 4 or 5 to have in November. (How’s that for not-so-subtle?)
Oh the frolicking Aussies…they are a handsome pair. Guessing Maybelle happy to not be a sheep…still, maybe a singleton isn’t herdable?

    • Well, she was an orphan so…she doesn’t moo very well and she may be missing some other “cow” traits, too! She’d probably herd! Thanks, Mom!! 🙂 And yes – I caught the “subtle” hint! 🙂

  6. I am speechless. All the other comments pretty well covered what I could say about this card. WOW!! It is ab.so.lute.ly. GORGEOUS! Love the colors, the layout, the stamping, the fussy cutting, the way you arranged the sentiment…..ALL of it! A sure winner.

  7. Hi Mary, let me preface this by saying that all of your cards are beautiful, but, oh my goodness, this one is absolutely stunning! I have been on the fence about this stamp set, but not any more! Thank you so much for sharing, I love it! BTW, I also love the F.F.F., I drop by every day to see what Fin is up to besides looking at your awesome cards! He’s such a cutie-patooty puppy!

    • Thank you so much, Sue. What a lovely thing to say!! 😊😊. And yes. He’s cute and sweet as he can be. He’s been quite the wonderful addition to our family!!

  8. Susan K

Dang it! I’d done a good job of resisting and telling myself I have too many stamp sets now, that I did not need this one. And then you go and do this! I’m such a weakling! It’s a gorgeous card and I look forward to CASing it.
You’re a good mama to take Finn for a play date….such happiness probably makes it worth it on your side too!

    • It was a very very pleasant 45 minutes or so, Susan! They’re such fun to watch and it feels good knowing he’s having a ball! I’m sorry to have been an enabler on this one but…you do NEED it! Just sayin’. Thanks so much! 🙂

  9. Beautiful take on the sketch!
