Stampin’ Up! Pieces & Patterns Sneak Peek

Good morning, y’all!  I’ve got a quick and easy super-simple-single-stamp-set-sneak-peek card for you today – cuz I know everyone’s busy with weekend things!

The Pick a Pattern Suite includes a fun and colorful Designer Paper and a cute little stamp set called Pieces & Patterns.

I let the designer paper do a lot of the work on this little card with the stamp set playing a supporting role.  Take a look-see:

The layout comes from the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge this week.

I started with a piece of the Pick a Pattern DSP in Flirty Flamingo, SNAILing it to a Basic Black mat.  I think this paper is so fun – when I look at it I think of the Mystery Machine.  You know – the van in the Scooby-Doo cartoons?!?  I know – it was blue and green, but…still! 😊

The middle layer is a piece of Whisper White, also matted on Basic Black.  I stamped the sentiment from Pieces & Patterns in Flirty Flamingo near the bottom of the panel.  I surrounded it with the little circles image from the set.  They’re stamped in Sahara Sand ink  – I stamped it off on scrap paper before stamping the panel.  Then I colored a few of the circles with my Emerald Envy, Crushed Curry and Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Write Markers and adhered the panel to the card front with SNAIL.

For my little flowers, I stamped them in Basic Black Archival Ink on Whisper White card stock and fussy cut them.  I colored a couple of them in Emerald Envy and one in Crushed Curry.  Then I adhered the Crushed Curry flower with Liquid Glue and popped the others on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To finish it off, I added some Crushed Curry Glitter Enamel Dots to the flowers and near the sentiment.  These are fun little embellishments – you get different sizes and they come in ombre shading!

On the inside, I added some more of the little circles in stamped-off-once Sahara Sand and colored them in Crushed Curry, Flirty Flamingo and Emerald Envy.

I SNAILd the panel to a Basic Black mat and then into my Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Pieces & Patterns circles…

…and a bit more of the Pick a Pattern DSP on the envelope flap.  I also added another little Pieces & Patterns flower in Basic Black Archival Ink, Emerald Envy and Crushed Curry.

Et Voila!  I think this is a fun little card – and you could change up the color scheme for the sentiment and flowers.  Hope you like and will be adding this to your wish list!

Finn-Fan Fix…

Poor pooped puppy!!

I’ve not seen him so quiet since the first days he lived with us and wasn’t sure what was what!

He spent most of Friday like this….

…either in the house with the A/C on or under the golf cart.

But – he’s a resilient soul.  By feeding time yesterday evening…back to pretty much normal.

We were taking the trash to the can and getting the mail.  He likes to carry the leash when it’s on him.

We don’t know why.

It makes him happy, so…I’m good with it!

Suspecting we’ll see the return of the boinger some time today! 🙂

  1. What a cute card! Love your CAS design! Those little flower accents are perfect! Glad to see that Mr Finn is returning to normal after his week of excitement at doggy daycare…sounds like you might have to take him over there more often! 😉

Cute card. This set was NOT on my list! However, when looking closely at it I see that it is bits and pieces of other stamp sets no longer in the new catty. Good idea! Just goes to show a very nice, thoughtful card doesn’t have to be complex. I like it!

  3. Great job with the sketch…now I have something to CASE this afternoon 🙂 He’s probably just like humans after a wonderful vacation…there’s a certain amount of down time. Glad to see he’s perking up and hope Wayne continues to do the same. Have a wonderful weekend.

    • LOL! CASE away! I think you’re right – he’s in the post-vacation slump. Wanted to be home – but wanted to stay on vacay. Reality crashes back in with a thump!! Thanks, Karen! 🙂

  4. Very cute, I love that paper and was just admiring it yesterday! You created a fantastic CAS with it!

  5. Kathleen VanDeVeere

    Very pretty!
Or buy a little of their stock, which it probably feels as if you already have!

  6. Very pretty take on the sketch!
