Happy Tuesday! Hope your week is going well!
So…Finn-Chewie has finally found a critter that will yield to his superior herding skills. This critter is completely mesmerized by Finn’s charm and hypnotic stare, driving it where he wants it to go (mostly around the driveway!). He often just freezes in the vain hope that if he holds very very still….Finn will go away and leave him in peace.
Actually – that frequently works.
LOL! That’s our new “goose” – courtesy of my mom this past Christmas! He’s pretty low maintenance – no food, no poop, no squawking! And he minds Finn way better then the kitties do, for darned sure! 🙂
My card for today uses the fun Birthday Blast bundle in the Occasions catalog. And – not surprisingly – I made a…birthday card with the Birthday Blast! Take a look-see:
My color scheme was inspired by some cupcakes! Take a look at this week’s Cupcake Inspirations challenge.
I also got a little inspiration from a card in the Occasions Catalog. 🙂
To begin, I stamped the large, bold image from the Birthday Blast stamp set in Mint Macaron on a Whisper White panel. I stamped it twice – making sure I reversed the orientation for the second image. Then I SNAILd the panel to a Sweet Sugarplum mat.
Next up, I cut a couple of Stitched Shapes circles – one in Daffodil Delight and one in Sweet Sugarplum. I adhered the larger, Daffodil Delight circle, to the card front. Over that is a Lace Doily with the white side up. Then comes the Sweet Sugarplum circle.
I used a couple of Glue Dots to wind a few loops of Crushed Curry Baker’s Twine.
My sentiment is a piece of Mint Macaron card stock with banner ends punched using the Banner Triple Punch. I inked the Birthday Blast sentiment with Versamark Ink and then sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it. Then I popped it over the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I used a little Liquid Glue to adhere a few Daffodil Delight stars – they’re the leftovers from a Star Blast Edgelits die cut that…you’ll see in just a minute!
On the inside, I started with a Whisper White panel and added…yes. The Daffodil Delight die cut that I made using the Star Blast Edgelits set!
I SNAILd the panel to a Sweet Sugarplum mat and into my Daffodil Delight card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
On the front of my Whisper White Medium Envelope, I added a few of the little fleur-de-loopies in the Birthday Blast stamp set, in Mint Macaron…
…and then added a bunch of Daffodil Delight stars to the envelope flap.
Et Voila! This is fun bundle – both the stamp set with it’s big and beautiful images and sentiments and the Star Blast Edgelits definitely give a card a big wow! Hope you like!

This stamp set is growing on me. I can’t wait to see the doilies up close and personal…the brown truck will be here tomorrow 🙂 I saw this challenge and wondered what SU colors would work. You hit the nail on the head. TFS. Finn is so handsome. Have a great day.
The doilies are just awesome – and so cool that you can pick white or vanilla!!! Thanks so much, Karen! 🙂
Love this card! So fun, so cheerful, so Birtday-ish! It just yells “Go have a great birthday!” I probably wouldn’t have thought to put those colors together, but they work. My birthday blast should get here today. Have lots of February birthdays.

Very Happy Birthday card. Rather resembles the dandelion cloud after making a wish.
Ha! The herdee doesn’t look any the worse for the herding, and how satisfying for the herder. LOL.
