Stampin’ Up! Sealed With Love You Lots!

Well, it’s Monday again.  A-freakin’-mazing how fast the weekend flies by.  I wonder if it would if I was “really” retired?  Would I still get the Sunday-afternoon-blues?  Hmm.  Not sure.

So – I had a bit of a revelation this weekend.  Ready?  Here ’tis.

Mrs. Brady had it made.

Not cuz they knew it was much more than a hunch.

Not even cuz all the girls had hair of gold like their mother (the youngest one in curls).

Nope.

It was Alice!

Mrs. Brady had Alice.

I don’t even know if she realized how good she had it – her fake tv house was always clean – fake dinner was always ready and the fake dishes were always done.

And – thanks to Alice – Mrs. Brady wouldn’t even have gotten upset over…

finn-and-toy-stuffing
That used to be the stuffed squeaky toy he got for Christmas.  I think one of those white things is the squeaky thing…

Sigh…9 months.  15 more months of chewie….sigh…. Alice would just cheerfully vacuum up the mess.  No.  Wait – she’d pick up all the pieces, stuff them back in the toy and sew it up.  All while a lovely roast was cooking in the oven.

I want need Alice!! 😉

Now – my card for today is another Valentine’s Day card or a hey-I-really-love-you-here’s-a-card card.  I used the Annual Catalog host-exclusive set called Love You Lots, plus a few goodies from the Sealed with Love Bundle.  And threw in a little…Grateful Bunch!  Take a look-see:

This one played along with the sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches this week.

And…the Just Us Girls Photo Week inspired much of the card.

I started with a plain Whisper White panel and stamped a field of Grateful Bunch daisies across it – using So Saffron ink and stamping it off once before stamping the card.  Then I SNAILd the panel to a Real Red mat.

My hearts are from the Sweet & Sassy Layering Framelits – and the Love Notes Framelits.  I cut two Sweet & Sassy hearts – one from the Sending Love DSP Stack and one in Real Red.  The Real Red heart got embossed in the Happy Heart TIEF, too.

I cut a heart from So Saffron card stock, using the Love Notes Framelits die.  The last heart…started with the cute ladybug stamped image from Lots of Love.  I stamped it in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Whisper White.  Then I colored the image with my Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker and cut the image with another Sweet & Sassy Framelit.

The sentiment is from the Sealed with Love stamp set.  To start, I inked the little interlocked hearts image in Real Red, stamping it off once on scrap paper, then stamped my card stock.  Over that, I stamped the little sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Then I cut the image with the matching die in the Love Notes Framelits.

I adhered the three bottom hearts to the card front with Liquid Glue.  The lady bug heart and the sentiment are popped on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I added a Real Red Enamel Shapes heart and the card front was done.

On the inside, I simply stamped a single Grateful Bunch daisy in stamped-off-once So Saffron in the middle of a Whisper White panel.  I used some sticky note tape to cover the other two flowers on the stamp.

I SNAILd the panel to a Real Red mat and into my So Saffron card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

For my Whisper White Medium Envelope, I added more of the Grateful Bunch daisies in So Saffron across the front…

…and gave the envelope flap a little more of the Sending Love DSP.

Et Voila!  Yellow daisies and hearts for Valentine’s day – or just any day you need to tell someone you love them.  Hope you like! 🙂

  1. Your story and Finn’s starring role, crack me up so early in the morning! Plus your card brought me great delight too. When you are retired, you will not have Sunday afternoon blues…trust me. I’ve been retired for 16 years!

  2. Ha! I need Alice here too…if you find her, be sure to send her my way after she’s cleaned up the squeaky toy and made dinner. 😉 Cute card! Love those little lady bugs and the die cut hearts are perfect! 🙂

    • Nope. Sorry. Once I get her here, she’s staying put! I’ll even set her up in a little room off the kitchen, just like she had on the show! 🙂 Thanks, Amy! 🙂

Your ladybug valentine design is adorable!

Will it help to lighten up the “Finn episode” if I refer to another older TV show? Remember The Jetsons’ dog Astro??

“Astro, if you don’t stop that you’re going to be in big trouble.”

    “Ruh-roh.”

“Alright Astro, you asked for it, no outdoor privileges all weekend.”

    “Raw, Rorge!”

    Adorable card, Mary!

  5. Mom

    Wonderful card!
    And yes, it WAS Alice.
The Sunday night thing will still happen. And everyday will definitely not be Saturday as I was told it would be.
On a happy note, you aren’t at the vet’s because the Finnmeister ATE the squeaky thing or the bulk of the stuffing. Never have thought stuffed things were all they aeecracked up to be. Still…when IT is all over, he will likely just carry it around and sleep with it since fluffy and white as it is, that stuffin’ resists being herded.

  6. Really cute card, love those ladybugs, just too adorable!

  7. Elisha

Adorable cards – so clever to use the daisies so subtly in the background:-). Nothing blue about my Sunday afternoons – just smiles after retiring from 30 yrs as a middle school teacher! I think I might take Rosie the robot over Alice – Rosie wouldn’t need a day off:-). Lol!! Finn looks so sorry and ashamed – mmmm maybe not!

  8. Ellie Peckler

Finn is too funny! Of course, I can say that because it’s not my carpet full of squeaky toy remains . . .
I really like your card; the ladybugs are so sweet. – Ellie

I so enjoyed reading your blog today! If we all had “Alice” think of all the craft time we could have! Oh, a girl can dream can’t she. Your card is super! Love the combo of hearts and ladybugs…it works! Thanks for sharing your talents with us at Just Us Girls this week!

You are just sooooo funny and you just love your Finn so much. Thank you for sharing his antics. I know how lovely he is, I have a Fin also (only one ‘n’ tho) and he is an Aussie also. So we both know how many antics they get up to.

    Warm Wishes: Mal, Melbourne Australia

    • Thanks so much, Mal! I do love him – crazy how fast we fall head over heels with the little boogers! Give you Fin a pet for me! 🙂

  11. Helen

Awesome story to wake up to. I need an Alice too and my puppy doesnee chew anymore! The best thing is Finn looks sooooo happy!

  12. I’d quite like an Alice, too 🙂 And our dog is 5 and still considers it a personal challenge to rip apart soft toys. He works and works at the seams then pulls the stuffing out until they’re a shadow of their former self. Anyway, onto your card. Just delightful! A gorgeous arrangement of elements and the ladybirds are just too cute! Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.

    • Oh now – you didn’t have to tell me that, Karren!! I’ve been clutching onto the idea that when he hits two he’ll quit wanting to chew everyone single thing he can find! 😉 Thanks much for the kind words on my card! 🙂

  13. Very cute! I love the little ladybugs and your layered hearts. The subtle stamping on the daisies on the background pairs up beautifully on this. Thanks for playing with us at JUGS!

  14. Those ladybugs are oh so cute!
