Stampin’ Up! Falling in Love with All Things Thanks Sneak Peek!

Well, good morning!  It’s 2 Jan 17.  Only 357 days until Christmas!

Too soon?? 🙂

We went over to our friends’ house yesterday for New Year’s dinner (hope y’all had your black eyed peas and greens!).  Finn joined us – and he and the kids wanted to pass along their wishes for a Happy New Year.

Yes, their eyes are glowing like they’re possessed!!  They were pretty sure treats were involved and I think they were trying to cast some sort of feed-me-now spell!!

So, folks – day after tomorrow is the big day!  The launch of the 2017 Occasions Catalog and the beginning of Sale-A-Bration!  Sale-A-Bration is a great time of year – with shopping and hosting and sign-up bonuses!  Oh – and free stuff!  I’ll bring all the details to you tomorrow so you’ll be ready to hit the ground shopping on Wednesday!

For today, though – how about another whet-yer-whistle sneak peek at the beautiful new Falling in Love DSP and a great sentiment stamp set called All Things Thanks?  Take a look-see:

I played along again with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge:

And the soft and pretty color palette comes from the Sunday Stamps Challenge:

ssc143-sketch
I started with two pieces of the Falling In Love DSP from the new Occasions catalog, matting both on Sweet Sugarplum card stock.  I used a length of new Very Vanilla 1/4″ Satin Ribbon, wrapping it around the card front and securing it in the back with scotch tape.  Then I SNAILd the smaller matted rectangle onto the card front.

For my sentiment panel, I took a third design from the Falling in Love DSP and, using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, stamped the All Things Thanks sentiment in Sweet Sugarplum.  I matted the square on Sweet Sugarplum and then popped it on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For my embellishment, I cut two large flourishes from Blushing Bride card stock, using the Flourish Thinlits.  I adhered them together with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue and then…well.  It was just a little too…plain.

So…I smooshed the flourish all up into my Versamark pad, sprinkled Heat & Stick powder all over it and heated it until it was glossy.  Then I sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter and heated it a little more to stick it on good.  I used a combination of Liquid Glue and teensy little pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to the card front.

Looks like I sugared it, doesn’t it?? 🙂

On the inside, I started with a Very Vanilla panel and cut a smaller Flourish Thinlits flower from the bottom corner.  Then I SNAILd the panel to a piece of the Falling in Love DSP and stuck the die cut back into the negative space with little dabs of Liquid Glue.

I SNAILd the panel to a Sweet Sugarplum mat and into a Soft Sky card base.  Then I popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another Flourish Thinlits die cut (from some Falling in Love DSP) adhered to the front with Liquid Glue…

… and some of the Soft Sky paper from Falling in Love on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This card is for a young lady who helped us out recently – and I hope that she enjoys receiving it!  The Falling in Love DSP is so pretty and I’m loving the sentiments in the All Things Thanks stamp set.  Hope you like!
