Stampin’ Up! Presents, Christmas Pines and Cheer

Mornin’, y’all!  It’s the weekend again and I hope you’ve got big plans!  Or – no plan at all – and just going to relax and enjoy the time not-at-work.

My arrival home on Friday evening was met with wiggles and kisses, which was a pretty nice thing to come home to, don’t you think?

Obviously I mean from Finn…. 😉  Wayne didn’t wiggle!

It’s possible he’s grown in the two days I was gone!  Or I could just be imagining that.

Again – Finn.  Not Wayne! 🙂

My card for today is another Christmas card.  It was pretty quick and easy to put together – and uses some of the Presents & Pinecones and Warmth & Cheer Washi Tape.  When I added the Christmas Pines bundle, here’s what I got.  Take a look-see:

This one used a design sketch challenge (that I turned on its side!) from Sunday Stamps:

ssc-138-sketch
I started with a panel of Whisper White card stock, and ran strips of three different designs of Washi Tape – two from the Warmth & Cheer pack and one from Presents & Pinecones – across the bottom.  Then I wrapped some Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine around the panel a few times, securing it in the back with scotch tape.

My sentiment comes from the Christmas Pines set.  I got the idea to stamp the sentiment over the top of the scroll box from my friend Amy Koenders.  You can see the inspiration right here.  I first stamped the scroll image in Early Espresso – that I stamped off once first – on the right side of the panel.

The sentiment itself I inked first in Versamark and then in Cherry Cobbler ink and stamped it right over the top of the scroll.  Then I sprinkled it with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.

For my decoration, I cut two pine boughs with the Pretty Pines Thinlits from Garden Green card stock.  I also cut a pine cone from Early Espresso and the solid pinecone from a piece of Copper Foil.  Using Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue, I adhered the Early Espresso die cut over the Copper Foil piece.

I cut a large bow from Cherry Cobbler and a small one from Garden Green and used more Liquid Glue to build the embellishment in the left corner.  Finally, I SNAILd the whole panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat and the card front was done! 🙂

On the inside, I started with another panel of Whisper White, and ran two strips of Washi Tape across the bottom – one is from the Warmth & Cheer pack and one from Presents & Pinecones.  Then I inked the pine bough from Christmas Pines in Garden Green – stamped it off twice and then stamped it in the top corner.

I matted the panel on Cherry Cobbler and into my Garden Green card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

For my Whisper White Medium Envelope, I added another of the Christmas Pines pine bough in stamped-off-twice Garden Green on the front…

…and added strips of the same Washi Tape design I used on the inside of the card to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Christmas quick and easy – once again thanks in great part to the wonderful Washi Tape we have from Stampin’ Up!  And, of course, my very favorite thing – the Christmas Pines stamp set and matching Pretty Pines Thinlits.  Hope you like! 🙂
