Stampin’ Up! Sneak Peek – Totally Trees Stylized Birthday!

Well, good morning – I’m grateful to y’all for giving me a few minutes of your Saturday morning!  I’ll confess that my title is a tad misleading – only the Totally Trees stamp set – from the new Holiday Catalog is a true “sneak peek”!  But – the Stylized Birthday stamp is new in the Annual Catalog – and new to me!  My oh-so-uber-cool upline and friend, Amy Koenders, suprised me with it the other day!  This was a stamp I had on my Wish List but just hadn’t acquired yet.  So, it was wicked cool to get it out of the blue!

And I was right to want it on my wish list!  It’s a really pretty little sentiment – it’s an a la carte stamp, which means you get one image.  And it’s a good one!

Totally Trees is a lot of fun – it’s got lots of different images and you can put them together in all sorts of ways to make lots and lots of…well,  trees!!  And a sun.  And…coconuts, too!

Totally Trees - Stamps-N-Lingers
I added a little bit of Gorgeous Grunge and here’s what resulted.  Take a look-see:

Totally Trees Stylized Birthday 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers
My design came from this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge #186:

CTS 186 Sketch
So, even though I used three stamp sets – this is a super quick and easy card to put together!

I started with a plain panel of Crumb Cake card stock and I stamped the solid sort of triangular image from Totally Trees three times in Old Olive ink.  Over the top of that (easy cuz it’s a photopolymer stamp set!), I stamped the pine trees in Always Artichoke ink.

Totally Trees Stylized Birthday 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I added the Stylized Birthday image in Always Artichoke.  For my splattery-speckles, I used the splattery-speckles image in the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  I stamped it a few times in Versamark ink, then sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heated it up!

I wrapped some new Gold Baker’s Twine from the Baker’s Twine Trio pack in the Holiday Catalog – putting it on the same angle as the trees, to give me the diagonal element in the sketch!  I secured it in the back with scotch tape.

Totally Trees Stylized Birthday 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I added a few Enamel Dots – two in Old Olive and one in Always Artichoke – then I SNAILd the panel to an Always Artichoke mat, and the card front was done!

Totally Trees Stylized Birthday 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers
On the inside, I simply repeated the tree image combination – solid image in Old Olive and pine tree in Always Artichoke ink.

Totally Trees Stylized Birthday 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I SNAILd this one to an Always Artichoke mat, and into my Crumb Cake card base.  The front is popped on with Stampin’ Dimensionals to complete the card.

I used a Crumb Cake Medium Envelope, adding the Totally Trees tree to the front…

…and to the back.

Totally Trees Stylized Birthday 7 - Stamps-N-Lingers
Et Voila!  Super simple, super pretty.  Or super handsome – depending on who you send it to!  I think this is a great little gender-neutral birthday card – brought to you courtesy of Totally Trees, the Stylized Birthday stamp and a neutral color palette.  Hope you like! 🙂
