Stampin’ Up! Bursting Birthday Blossoms

Well – good morning!  I don’t want to say that by the time you read this I’ll be on the road home.  Cuz that would mentally lock me into getting up and getting going by the time this posts on Saturday at 7:30 in the A-M.  And I don’t know for sure that I’m going to be doing that!  My current plan is to wake up when I wake up, get up when I get up, pack when I pack and go when I go.

That’s what I’d call a definitive plan, huh? 😉

My card for today was originally for a Birthday card challenge – but I missed it, so…now it’s just a non-challenged birthday card.  It’s also really quick and easy – making it non-challengED and non-challengING!

I used the beautiful Birthday Blossoms stamp set, with some Petite Petals flowers added in.  And, cuz I love it, I brought the new Petal Burst TIEF into play. Take a look-see:

Birthday Blossoms Petal Burst 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers
You can see that I employed one of my favorite color schemes – white, black and pink.  The pink I picked was Flirty Flamingo!

I started by stamping the pretty Birthday Blossome flower cluster image several times on a Whisper White panel.  I made all the stamps full-strength.  Then I embossed the panel in the Petal Burst TIEF and SNAILd it to a Basic Black card stock mat.

Birthday Blossoms Petal Burst 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers
For the sentiment panel, I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to stamp the Birthday Blossoms sentiment in Basic Black Archival ink in the bottom corner.  Then I added another of the blossom images in Flirty Flamingo and matted it on Basic Black card stock.

For my 3-D flowers, I pulled out the Petite Petals stamp set.  On Whisper White card stock, I stamped several in Flirty Flamingo and several in Versamark Ink.  Those I sprinkled with the new Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed.  I punched them all out with the Petite Petals Punch.

The leaves, also from Birthday Blossoms, I stamped in Pear Pizzazz and fussy cut.  Then I used my stylus to give the flowers and leaves some shape and dimension.  I used the stylus on the fronts of the flowers (to curl the petals up) and on the backs of the leaves (to round them down, like I think a leaf would look).

Birthday Blossoms Petal Burst 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I popped my sentiment panel over the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and used Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to add the flowers and leaves. To finish it off, I used some Flirty Flamingo Enamel Shapes in the middle of each of the flowers.  I added a touch of Liquid Glue behind the shapes that went on the embossed flowers, just to help them adhere.

Birthday Blossoms Petal Burst 8 - Stamps-N-Lingers
On the inside, I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to add a second sentiment from Birthday Blossoms in Basic Black Archival Ink to a Whisper White panel.  Then I added some more Flirty Flamingo blossoms and Pear Pizzazz leaves.

Birthday Blossoms Petal Burst 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I SNAILd it to its Basic Black mat and into my Flirty Flamingo card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done! 🙂

For the Whisper White Medium Envelope, I added more Flirty Flamingo Birthday Blossoms and Pear Pizzazz leaves to the front…

Birthday Blossoms Petal Burst 6 - Stamps-N-Lingers
…and tossed more of the same across the flap of the envelope.

Birthday Blossoms Petal Burst 7 - Stamps-N-Lingers
Et Voila!  Super simple, super easy and super quick!  And pretty pretty for all that, don’t you think?  Birthday Blossoms makes an awfully nice card.  Hope you like!
