Stampin’ Up! Thank You From Thoughtful Branches

Hey, y’all!  It’s Sunday and I have a couple things to share with you!  Before I get going on card things – I have a Duck Duck story.

So – you remember that we have a couple of deer twins hanging around, right?  Well, Wayne told me that there was a bit of a meeting of the species-minds (and schnoozles!) today.  The mom and babies were playing and grazing right by the pond – and Miss Thing came hurrying across the pond and hustled her little goose-butt right up the bank to have a bit of a face-to-face with the babies!  Apparently there was some concern that there might be some tasty something that the babies were getting that she wasn’t!  And that for darned sure wasn’t going to fly!  Mama was uninterested, but the kids were a little perplexed about the noisy, squakackling thing making such a fuss!

I wish I could have seen that…. 🙂

The second little thing is card related and it’s exciting!  Well, it is to me, at least.  I found out yesterday that my CAS(E) This Sketch card that I made for their Challenge #180….was the winner of the challenge!! Thanks to all the ladies at CTS for picking my card!  Since I’m pretty sure you don’t have all my cards memorized and associated with the sketches….this is the one!

If you want to see how I made it, you can go to it right here.  Also, be sure to head over to CAS(E) This Sketch and see the other winners, okay?

Okay – on to the card for the day!  I used the new set – Thankful Branches and Beautiful Branches (stamp set and Thinlits, respectively).

I know I used the same set yesterday, but bear with me.  I’m still in love, okay?  And this set offers so many possibilities – I want to show you how versatile it really is.  Take a look-see:

Like that shadow in my picture?

Yea.  Me neither.  Sorry!

Since I first looked over this Thoughtful Branches stamp set – I’ve been seeing that bird image in my head.  In red.  On white.  And it was the only color on the card – the card in my head.

So I had to make it happen.

I started by embossing a Whisper White panel in the Happy Heart TIEF and mounting it on a Basic Black card stock mat.  I used a piece of new Real Red 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon, wrapping it on a diagonal across the card front and securing it in the back with scotch tape.

For the sentiment, I cut a heart in Whisper White using the new Sweet & Sassy Framelits.  The sentiment, from Thoughtful Branches, is stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink.  Isn’t that just the prettiest font??

I matted the heart on a larger heart, cut in Basic Black using a little Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.

Thoughtful Branches Thank You 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers
Thoughtful Branches has two little bird images – each facing a different direction – so you can use whichever one you like.  Or use them both – “kissing”!  This one I stamped in Real Red on Whisper White and cut it with the matching die from Beautiful Branches.  Then I stuck him on with a little more of the Liquid Glue, popped the heart over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the little branch image from the stamp set, in Basic Black Archival Ink in the bottom corner of a Whisper White panel.  Then I added the bird in Real Red.  He needed some legs, so I just drew them in with my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.

I SNAILd the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Whisper White card base.  I added the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

The Whisper White Medium Envelope got the branch and bird on the front…

…and more of each image scattered across the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Clean and simple – but still beuatiulf, I think!  I love how the red just pops against the clean black and white canvas.  Oh – how artsy of me! 😉  I hope you like it, too – and are suitably impressed with everything you can do with this set!

  1. Mom

They made a good choice. Good on ya!
The thank you note is very nice too. I can see why you are using that set!
Oh, pushy Duck Duck! I am sure my resident dearnies wouldn’t find her amusing either. But I do!

  2. Awesome card! Love that CAS design and the colors are just perfect. 🙂 Too funny that your pushy bird was worried about missing out on a treat! Sounds just like kids. 😉

  3. Thank you, Amy! 🙂
