Home again! Yeah!! Feels good to be back in the fold. The horses were glad to see me – well, they acted like they were glad…coulda just been the prospect of peppermints! 🙂 And I had a lap full of cat last night – which is pretty much about as good as it gets!!
Speaking of peppermints – just a quick reminder that this is such a great time to start filling up those wish lists from the new 2016-2017 Annual Catalog. In addition to the great specials that SU! is putting on in the month of June – you can earn DOUBLE peppermint rewards points right now thru Wednesday, 8 June! So…git yer shop on! 🙂
The focal point for my card today is the very pretty floral paper in the Affectionately Yours DSP. I used the paper and I replicated the flowers with the Love and Affection stamp set. With the addition of a sentiment from the Watercolor Wishes stamp set – available exclusively when you purchase the Watercolor Wishes Card Kit – I ended up with a cheerful summery any occasion card. Take a look-see:
The design for this tall-and-skinny card was inspired by this week’s Mojo Monday challenge sketch #450:
I started the card by building the first card front layer. Using a piece of new Peekaboo Peach card stock, I stamped one of the pretty floral images from Love and Affection, in Peekaboo Peach, all over the panel. The tone-on-tone look gives it a sort of Damask look, I think! I SNAILd that to a Crumb Cake mat.
The next layer is a Crushed Curry panel, stamped with the same floral image in Crushed Curry. I SNAILd a piece of the Copper Foil paper from the Affectionately Yours DSP over the top of that panel – leaving a strip on the left to go with the sketch. Then I layered that over a Crumb Cake mat and SNAILd it to the card front.
I wrapped a length of the pretty new 3/8″ Ruched Ribbon – in Peekaboo Peach – around the layered panel, securing it in the back with scotch tape. While I had the ribbon out, I cut another length and tied a small bow, which I set aside for the time being.
The sentiment tag is a piece of Whisper White card stock, banner-ized with my Banner Triple Punch. I stamped the sentiment from Watercolor Wishes in Peekaboo Peach – isn’t that font gorgeous!? 🙂
Using a couple of different images in the Love and Affection stamp set, I stamped around the sentiment in Versamark ink. I gave it a quick rub with my Embossing Buddy, and stamped just a few images at a time – then sprinkled them with the new-and-beautiful Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I heated each set of flowers before I moved to the next.
When all the flowers were Copper heat embossed, I SNAILd the tag to a mat that had also been cut with the Banner Triple Punch, and SNAILd the whole thing to the card front.
The flower is punched with the Pansy Punch, in Peekaboo Peach. I punched out two flowers, lightly sponged their edges with Peekaboo Peach and gently folded their petals. For the inside of the flower, I punched two of the medium sized flowers in the Blossom Bunch punch and lightly sponged their edges as well.
Then I adhered the layers all together with some Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue and stuck an Antique Brad (now retired – but if you don’t have them already, maybe use one of the new In Color Enamel Shapes or Gold Metallic Enamel Shapes!) thru the center. Using some Glue Dots on the back of my completed flower, I ran multiple loops of Gold Metallic Thread behind it. Finally, I adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue and was done with the front of the card!
On the inside, I stamped more of the Love and Affection flowers in Peekaboo Peach and Crushed Curry on a Whisper White panel and then flicked the edges of the panel with Peekaboo Peach. I SNAILd it to a Crumb Cake mat and then into my Crushed Curry card base.
I popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The very last step was to add my Peekaboo Peach 3/8″ Ruched Ribbon bow that I’d tied earlier, with little Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue and the card was done! 🙂
For the Whisper White Medium Envelope, I added more Love and Affection flowers in Peekaboo Peach and Crushed Curry…
…and gave the envelope flap a bit of bling with a little more of the Copper Foil Affectionately Yours DSP!
Et Voila! Turns out that Peekaboo Peach and Crushed Curry go together quite nicely, yes? And the new Copper Foil and Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder…wow!! So pretty! Hope that you like!

Oh – want to see what I had for dinner the other night? I forgot to take a picture of the entree – Pecan Crusted Chicken Breast – but I did snap a pic of my salad. This is the “BLT” with Fried Green Tomatoes and Sweet Bacon with Black Pepper Thyme Dressing. Oh yes. So good – in fact, it was highlighted on the Food Network Show “The Best Thing I Ever Ate”. It’s that good. 🙂

So pretty Mary! Peekaboo Peach does go perfectly with Crushed Curry…it’s fun coming up with color combinations with the new In Colors. 🙂 Oh my…that salad looks outstanding! I’m thinking that a road trip just to visit that restaurant is definitely in order!
It was EXACTLY good enough to warrant a weekend stay in Savannah!! And there’s a lovely little Southern restaurant in Hinesville – Izola’s – worth going for lunch. Road trip!
Thanks much, Amy! 🙂
