Happy Friday, y’all!  I’m writing from Savannah – and it’s humid.  And muggy.  And humid.

And yesterday I saw an alligator in a little pond-ish thing by the road.  A real live alligator.  Like…loose.  To do whatever he wanted and go wherever the mood struck him.

It was kinda cool.  And yet…yikes! 🙂

My card today really showcases a new stamp set and the new 2016-2018 In Colors.  I used the Painter’s Palette stamp set – that I got as a pre-order item! – and some Playful Palette DSP Stack paper to make a fun little card for a friend.  Take a look-see:

I played along with a color challenge this week at Can You Case It.  Challenge #117 called for Black, Cream and Peach.

I took a teeny bit of liberty with the color scheme, but the predominance of the colors are correct.  It gave me a chance to use some Peekaboo Peach card stock! 🙂

I made two identically sized panels – one is a piece of the Playful Palette DSP Stack and one is Very Vanilla.  I matted both of them on Peekaboo Peach.  The first panel, with the Playful Palette DSP, I went ahead and SNAILd to my Basic Black card base on a jaunty little angle.

On the Very Vanilla panel, I first stamped the artist’ palette image from the Painter’s Palette in Basic Black Archival Ink.  I made the little swathes on the “canvas” by using the medium sized swath image in the stamp set.  I stamped Emerald Envy, Sweet Sugarplum, Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo.

I used Dapper Denim to stamp the sentiment – also from Painter’s Palette – in the center of the canvas.  Then I waved the panel around for a minute to be sure it was good and dry.

I inked up the thumbtack image in Versamark ink, stamped it at the top of the “canvas” and sprinkled it with new Copper Stampin’ Emboss powder.  A blast of heat from my Heat Tool melted it and got it all nice and purty!

I popped the completed panel over the first panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card front was done!

On the inside, I cut a panel – same size as the panels on the front for continuity – from Very Vanilla and matted it on Peekaboo Peach card stock.  Then I SNAILd it into my Basic Black Card Base.  Just for fun, I ran a strip of Playful Palette Designer Washi Tape across the top and the bottom of the panel – and the card was done! 🙂

I set the new Playful Palette Washi tape to work again on the Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, running two strips right across the front…

…and cut my usual liner with my Envelope Liner Framelits from more of the Playful Palette DSP!

Et Voila!  I love the pop of the color against the stark black background – the additional “blank” space is nice.  And, how fun is this Suite?  I really wasn’t sure I was going to love this particular set of stamps and papers.  But…it turns out that I do!!  There are so many fun images….

And the colorful Designer Paper Stack and Washi Tape….
