Stampin’ Up! Give Thanks For All Things with Vintage Leaves and a Wonderland!

Happy Sunday!  The On-Stage Live event was a great day – we saw a lot of cool new products that I can’t wait to share with you!

Of course, I have to wait – I can’t share these things with you until tomorrow night – so….really Tuesday!  So be sure to check back during the week, when I’ll be showing you some of what we saw yesterday!

We did have fun.  Everyone got two or three free stamp sets from the new 2016 Spring Occasions catalog, which is quite awesome!  And Amy and Jari and I took a little time to pose for the camera.

Serious….

Goofy…..

On Stage 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers

So – the first ever On-Stage Live Event is in the history books and a good time was had by all.  And I just can’t wait to get my pre-order in and get them so I can start sharing the new goodies with you! 🙂

On to the business at hand.

Today’s card looks more complicated than it really is – especially after I tell you exactly how to do it! –  so don’t be intimidated.  It uses the For All Things stamp set, the Woodland TIEF and the super Festive Flower Punch (which is still in the Weekly Deals!).  Take a look-see:

For the layout of the card, I drew inspiration from the Mojo Monday Challenge #423...

MM 423 Sketch

And the color scheme is from this week’s Pals Paper Arts challenge #275.

PPA 275 sketch

Be sure to check both sites out to see what everyone does for these challenges!

I started by making my card front.  I sponged the printed-on side of the Woodland TIEF with Crumb Cake ink – be generous, but keep it off the “trees” as much as possible!  Then I ran a Crumb Cake panel thru the Big Shot, which resulted in the ever-so-cool birch grove for my card front!  I SNAILd it to a panel of Gold Foil and set it aside.

The various layers are created like this:

The lowest layer is a simple piece of Delightful Dijon (close enough to Hello Honey – which I don’t have!) layered on a Gold Foil mat.  The middle layer is a banner made from Blackberry Bliss layered on Gold Foil, with the ends punched in the Banner Triple Punch.  Well, the Blackberry Bliss piece uses the punch, the Gold Foil is a little too wide – so it’s fussy cut!  Once I got it all adhered together with SNAIL, I decided I wanted a little texture.  So I stuck it in the Simply Scored board and started making trying to make lines.  Well, it was thick enough that my lines became squiggly right quick-like.  I spent a little time trying to figure out something else to do.  Then I decided to just go with it – and it ended up looking like woodgrain!  So I learned a new technique without even planning to! 🙂

Next come a Tangelo Twist card stock panel on Gold Foil.  I used my Simply Scored board to create the “frame” around the edges – I just scored two lines down each side, letting them intersect at the corners!  Finally, the sentiment circle is cut with a Circles Collection Framelits die from Delightful Dijon.  I stamped the sentiment from For All Things in Blackberry Bliss and then added “stitches” with my Blackberry bliss Stampin’ Write Marker.  I used my 2 1/2″ Circle Punch to punch the sentiment mat from Gold Foil.

All the layers are SNAILd to their mats and then SNAILd onto the Woodland embossed Crumb Cake panel.

I built the Festive Flower with Tangelo Twist and Delightful Dijon card stock – each stamped with the corresponding Reason for the Season stamp, in the same color ink.  After punching them out, I folded each one in half and then opened it up to give it a little life.  I adhered the petals to circles cut with my 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch, with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.  I made 4 medium petals and 3 of the small double-petals (which I cut in half).  Once I had everything stuck together, I didn’t like how the 4 larger petals stuck out – so I used my Paper Snips to gently round the ends off – making the whole thing more circular and flower-dy!  The “leaves” are medium petals, heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Gold Foil.  I stuck the flower on with Liquid Glue and then, using the same glue, nestled the leaves under the flower where I wanted it.

The stamen pieces are cut from Gold Foil (again with the Festive Flower Punch) adhered with Liquid Glue and embellished with a large Pearl Basic Jewel!

I set the card front aside and went to work on the inside.

The inside is blank – lots of room for a hand written message!  I SNAILd a piece of Very Vanilla card stock to a Gold Foil mat, and then added a Blackberry Bliss strip.  I adhered the strip to it’s Gold Foil Mat and then gave it the same Simply Scored Board treatment that the banner on the front had.    With the liner safely installed, I popped the card front onto my Tangelo Twist Card Base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  And that was that!

The Crumb Cake Medium envelope got a liner made with my Envelope Liner Framelits.  I cut the liner from a piece of leftover Kraft Envelope Paper and then, using my Soft Suede and a sponge, sent it thru the Big Shot in an inked up Woodland TIEF.  Just like the card front!  After I SNAILd it inside my envelope – here’s how it looks!

Et Voila!  A fall-festive flower from the Festive Flower Punch – how versatile is that?  (And without giving anything away, consider adding this punch to your stash this week!  While it’s still in the Weekly Deals.  You pickin’ up what I’m putting’ down!?! 😉 )  A very cool Woodland background – just by sponging the TIEF before sending it thru the Big Shot.  And a cool way to make “woodgrain” using the Simply Scored Board.  Triple whammy of techniques that came together to create a cool Thanksgiving Card!

I’m on my way home from Tampa to pack and get ready to leave tomorrow for Arizona!  Yeah?  😉

I’ll be back in your inbox bright and early tomorrow!

TTFN

Mary
