Stampin’ Up! Delicate Embellished Ornaments

Good morning!  It’s Monday again.  One week from today I’ll be getting on a plane for a fun-filled month in Yuma, AZ.  I know – you’re envious of the glamorous, jet-setting life I live – I’m sorry to brag and rub it in!  But, before I do that, I have to decide what to take with me – Stampin’ Up!-wise.  My Big Shot for sure.  Paper Trimmer.  Envelope Board? Fall/Thanksgiving/Christmas stamp sets.  Framelits.  Embossing Folders.  Inks. Paper – that’s always hard cause it’s so heavy.  Ribbons and embellishments.  I’m going to try to get my things there in suitcases – rather than shipping it.  I’m only gone for a month – and when you ship, you have too many days on each end where you don’t have your things.  We’ll see if I can make it happen.

These are the things that keep me up at night! 😉

The card I made today is a study in ornaments!  Delicate Ornaments.  Embellished Ornaments.  Easy to combine them since I bought them as a 15%-off bundle!  I used lots of shiny, glittery paper, too.  Take a look-see:

Delicate Embellished Ornaments 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I started by heat embossing the sentiment from Embellished Ornaments in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder in the bottom corner of a piece of Shimmery White card stock.   Then I SNAILd that to a Real Red mat.

The ornaments are all cut from Red Glimmer Paper, using the Delicate Ornaments Framelits.  The background die cuts are Silver Glimmer Paper and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  The two larger ornaments have framelits for their background pieces.  The small ornament I had to adhere the red die cut ornament to a piece of my Silver Glimmer Paper and then fussy cut it to fit.  All the intricate die cuts are adhered to their backgrounds with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.

Delicate Embellished Ornaments 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers

The bottom Delicate Ornament is SNAILd directly to the card front.  Before adhering it, I punched a 7/8″ Circle out of the lower right side of the die cut.  Then, after I adhered it with the SNAIL, I added a Stampin’ Dimensional in the cut-out circle.  That helped with adhering the next layer.  That one – with the Dazzling Diamonds background is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Finally, I used a double-thickness of Dimensionals on the final, smallest ornament.  I wanted all the layers to be different heights.

I cut the ornament hangar thing-y’s from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and adhered them with Liquid Glue.  I punched the little tiny ornaments using an Itty Bitty Punch that’s been retired – sorry, I didn’t realize it until the card was all together! 🙁  You could easily use stars from the current Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack – I punched them out in Silver and Red Glimmer Papers.

Delicate Embellished Ornaments 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I added a little bow from the Silver Cording Trim, with Liquid Glue, to the middle ornament – and then SNAILd the card front to my Whisper White card base.  I know I usually pop my fronts with Dimensionals, but this card is thick enough without one more layer of pop-itude! 🙂

On the inside, I used Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder to heat emboss the second sentiment from Delicate Ornaments.  Then I stamped two of the ornaments, in Real Red, on the bottom of my piece of Shimmery White card stock.  I used the stamp-off-once-on-scrap-paper technique on both images.

I added a few more Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper hangar thing-y’s and a few more of the tiny ornaments.

Delicate Embellished Ornaments 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I used a Whisper White Medium Envelope, and added a couple more stamped-off-once Real Red Embellished Ornaments to the front….

Delicate Embellished Ornaments 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers

…and my envelope liner is a piece of leftover Real Red Envelope Paper.  Before I used my Envelope Liner Framelit, I stamped several of the Delicate Ornament images in Real Red – without stamping off first.  Gave me a pretty tone-on-tone liner, and also used a piece of that Envelope Paper that otherwise might have gone to waste!

Delicate Embellished Ornaments 6 - Stamps-N-Lingers

Et Voila!  The very essence of Christmas decorations – sparkly, glittery ornaments!  Real easy to make with the Delicate Ornaments Framelits, too.

I’ll be back tomorrow with the new Weekly Deals – if there’s something in this week’s offering that you wanted, now’s the time to get them!

Have a great Monday, y’all.

  1. So pretty! I love your glittery ornaments, fantastic layering. Bummer on the trip to Yuma for a month…maybe you should just order double of everything and then you don’t need to worry about the transport time. 😉

  2. Ha! My hubby just had a little tiny stroke when I mentioned that idea!! 😊 thanks, Amy!

Hi Mary, Beautiful card! We are traveling, too, and I always bring my crafts. I learned from you to leave little gifts for the staff at the front counter and the housekeepers, as well as a little something for the waitress (when we eat out.) People seem touched by this… I am a morning person, so I get up early and create while my hubby sleeps. Been having fun with Peaceful Pines and the host set with the three stamp butterfly… So pretty! I hope your trip goes well… One month is a long time. Glad you can blog from wherever you are. Please stay in touch, and God bless.

  4. Thank you, Patricia! It tickles me to hear that you’re giving the little thank you’s! Makes me feel good. I hope that YOUR trip is for fun and that you have a great time. Safe travels and happy stamping with Peaceful Pines! 🙂
