Happy Saturday, y’all! The weekend looms large and spreads with such promise on Saturday morning, doesn’t it?? I hope that you have plans to do something fun! This post is short today – that’s how easy this card is to make…
You might recall a few posts back my card was inspired by the CAS(E) This Sketch #132 challenge. The one that looked like this:
And I’d planned to use my Lovely as a Tree set. But instead, my card became this:
Well, I warned you that I’d probably reprise that sketch, but stick to my guns and use the Lovely as a Tree. So here it is. Take a look-see:
Obviously, I took a little artistic license with the sketch, right? 🙂
I started by inking the Lovely as a Tree stamp in Versamark and stamping a piece Night of Navy card stock. I sprinkled Gold Stampin’ Emboss powder on it (oh – I definitely DID use my Embossing Buddy FIRST – with this much detail that was critical!) and heat embossed it with my Heat Tool. Then I mounted that on a piece of Whisper White card stock. I considered using a piece of Gold Foil paper, but 1) I decided that would REALLY make it too Christmas-y for me and 2) well, I didn’t HAVE any Gold Foil sheets! 😉 So, white it was.
My sentiment is from the Watercolor Wishes – man, I just keep going back to that set! – again heat embossed in Gold. I snipped the ends to make the banner, and layered it on a very-slightly-bigger piece of Whisper White. I adhered it to the art piece with SNAIL.
For the embellishment, I used one of the Antique Brads. But, I didn’t want “antique” I wanted “gold”. So, I smooshed the brad in my Versamark pad, dunked it in the pot of Gold Stampin’ Emboss powder, shook off the extra and heated it up. And lookee-lookee: a GOLD embellishment!
I used my stylus to poke a hole in the art piece and attached the newly-golden brad. Then I adhered the whole layered piece to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. And that did the card front – very quick. Very clean.
For the inside, I heat embossed a few more of the trees. This is the same Lovely as a Tree stamp that I used on the front, only I only stamped a few trees from each side onto my Whisper White liner.
Et Voila! The card was done – easy peasy! I really love this color combo – Blue and Gold is always beautiful and classic. And the white makes everything pop, I think. And, now that I think on it a bit, a set of these would be a great Christmas Gift – as Christmas Thank You notes! With the Gold Foil instead of Whisper White, perhaps? 🙂

Thanks for stopping by – see you tomorrow!
