Tick tock tick tock….I’m counting the minutes until my order of new SNEAK PEAK 2015-2016 Annual Catalog toys arrives!! Whoo-hoo! In the meantime, I’ve got a quick and easy card to share with you today. This design is very very versatile. Change up the color of the die cut, use a different DSP and all of a sudden, a card very much suited for a man becomes more feminine. Change “Happy” to “Hello” (from the same Hello You thinlit set – which is in the new catalog, OBTW!). Use a different sentiment stamp….and you could have a really cute new baby card. Take a look-see at what I’m talkin’ about:
This card is so quick to put together…..I started with a simple mat of Very Vanilla. Then I pulled out a few of my favorite designs in the Adventure Bound Designer Stack (still available for a couple more weeks!) and punched out a some hexagons with my Hexagon Punch. While my punch was out and handy, I cut out a hex window in the bottom right hand corner of the mat. Then I SNAIL’d the shapes into a design – this was the hardest part, really – making sure that my spacing was good (I used the ole TLAR method – That Looks About Right!).
I laid the mat onto my Cajun Craze card base and, using my Stamp-a-Ma-Jig, stamped the sentiment from Petite Pairs into the hexagon window. Admininistrative Note Break: The Retiring List shows Petite Pairs as being on the chopping block – but that’s an error. This awesome stamp set will still be available in the new catalog!! Now back to our regularly scheduled blog post….. when I inked the stamp up, I covered the word “Happy” with a sticky note, and inked the stamp with my Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write Marker.
Cutting out the Happy die, with the Hello You Thinlits was quick, since I actually remembered to stick my waxed paper in between the card stock and the die! I used lots of little dots of Multi-Purpose Liquid glue to adhere it to the mat. Popping the whole piece onto the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals completed the card front!
The inside was just as fast. I SNAIL’d a scrap strip of Cajun Craze to my Very Vanilla Liner and then lined up three more Adventure Bound Hexagons across the strip.
And – done! Easy Peasy Quick and Easy! And – was I right? You could easily change up colors, DSPs, die cuts and sentiments and make almost any kind of occasion card using this exact design! Hope that you like it!
