Stampin’ Up! Blended Seasons Sorry for Everything!

Happy Happy Haawwmp Day, y’all!  The week is going quickly – and next week we’ve got a Holiday!!  Whoo-hoo!

And…something else is happening next week…

What is it…

It’s right on the tip of my tongue…

Hmmm…

Well – it’ll come to me I’m sure! 🙂

One thing I DO remember is that the cool Color Your Season promotion is ending this week -like…DAY AFTER TOMORROW!  That’s right, after Friday, you will NOT be able to pick up the lovely Blended Seasons stamp set and coordinating Stitched Seasons Framelits.  So…tarry not, okay?  Here’s a link right to them in my Online Store!

In fact, I’m so sure that you NEED this set that – for the next two days ONLY – everyone who orders the Color Your Seasons Bundle will get TRIPLE PEPPERMINT POINTS!

Remember – this is only good thru the end of the day on Friday, 31 Aug AND you MUST order the BUNDLE to get the TRIPLE PEPPERMINTS! Got it!?

Now – today’s card is a sympathy card for a friend who lost her old dog this past Sunday. 🙁

I used the Blended Seasons stamp set as well as the Sorry For Everything set from the Annual Catalog, plus a few other fun goodies.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this card was based on this week’s Sunday Stamps sketch challenge.

And the color scheme comes from the Global Design Project challenge.

I’d wanted to use the Blended Seasons set today and, after seeing the pretty card that GDP Guest Designer Holley Smith made, I knew just what to make!

I started with a piece of Very Vanilla card stock and, using my Stamparatus, stamped the Tree Rings background image in Soft Suede.  Then I used a Sponge Dauber to sponge the edges in more Soft Suede.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Soft Suede mat.

The next layer is a piece of paper from the Garden Impressions DSP (yes, I know that’s Crushed Curry – it’s called artistic license…..hello?!) matted on Soft Suede and adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

My angled piece is yet another piece of Soft Suede that I cut to fit exactly on the angle depicted in the sketch, then I embossed it in the Corrugated Dynamic TIEF (coming next week in the….that’s IT!!  The 2018 Holiday Catalog goes LIVE next week on the 5th!!).  Once I sponged it with Soft Suede, I decided I wanted torn edges – so I tore the edges – then used Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere it to the card front.

And then the fun began!

I stamped the pretty Blended Seasons leaves image on Whisper White, twice, in Soft Suede ink.  Then I used my Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends – both Light and Dark – and my Flirty Flamingo Light Blend – to color all the leaves.  I used my Soft Suede Light Blend for the little stems.  Then I fussy cut all the leaves!

My sentiment is from Sorry For Everything – it’s actually three separate images in the set – all stamped in Soft Suede on Very Vanilla.  I lightly flicked the edges of the sentiment with Soft Suede ink using a Sponge Dauber.  I used the same dauber to lightly sponge a Flirty Flamingo Colored Doily (just to tone it down a smidge).  That I adhered next with a little Liquid Glue.

I put some Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of my sentiment and used them to wind a few loops of Linen Thread.

I added a few of the leaves to the card front with Liquid Glue, then popped the sentiment on with the Dimensionals.  Then I added the rest of the leaves with Liquid Glue or Liquid Glue and Mini Dimensionals.

I tied a Linen Thread Double-Loop Billie Bow and tucked it under the corner of the sentiment with a Glue Dot, added a few Pearl Basic Jewels and the card front was done!

On the inside, I simply stamped and colored the leaves from the Blended Seasons stamp set in Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight and Flirty Flamingo on a Very Vanilla panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Soft Suede mat and into my Thick Very Vanilla card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another set of Blended Season leaves on the front (don’t forget to slide a piece of plastic or something into the envelope to keep the Stampin’ Blends from bleeding thru to the back)…

…and I added a bit more of the Garden Impressions DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This Blended Season stamp set has such gorgeous images in it – I particularly love these leaves!  And the matching Stitched Seasons Framelits feature some really cool inside AND outside stitching!  And – this card would work as a general sympathy card (not necessarily just for someone who’s lost a fur-child) – thanks to the wonderful sentiment in the Sorry For Everything stamp set.  I hope you like!

I also hope that – if you haven’t already – you’ll add this bundle to your tool box.  And earn those Triple Peppermint Rewards!!  Hurry quick!

Finn Fan Fix

I suppose I’ve mentioned – a time or two! – that Finny likes to nap.

He likes to play and run and roughhouse, too -but…he really likes to nap. 🙂

Which works out pretty well for us (me in particular!).  I can set at my craft table or my work computer and do what I need to do.

And he…just finds a cool spot – in front of the A/C register or the fan in the bedroom…and sleeps the afternoon away.

After a couple of hours he wakes up and comes over to wherever I’m sitting.

Probably needs to go out.

But – I like to think that he ALSO wants a little Mom-lovin’!  So – I give it to him!

And take a couple of us-ies!!  Please disregard my hair.  And lack of make-up.  Wasn’t ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille! 😉

Mom’s do the most embarrassing things!! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Painted Harvest Cat for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We’ve got a full roster for today’s sketch challenge, so be sure to check ’em all out when you get done here!

This is the fun sketch we all played with this week.

I decided to play with a cool technique that seems to be all the rage right now (search Pinterest – you’ll see what I mean!) – it’s called the Eclipse Technique.  But…I did a Double Eclipse – using the almost-available Painted Harvest stamp set and Cat Punch plus the Sorry For Everything stamp set from the Annual Catalog.  Take a look-see:

I started with a panel of Painted Autumn DSP and Fast Fuse’d it to an Early Espresso mat for the card front.

For the art panel, I cut a slightly smaller panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  Near the top, I cut the largest Stitched Shapes Framelits circle die.  Using the new Cat Punch, I cut the cat out near the middle of the circle.

To do my stamping, I laid a sticky note upside down on my work surface (sticky side up), and laid the entire panel – with the cut outs back in place – over the sticky part of the note.  If you do this, be sure that the cut outs are lightly stuck on the sticky stuff.  This keeps them in place while you do the stamping.  Make sense?

Using Crushed Curry ink, I stamped my three flowers in a cluster around the cat and cutout circle.  For each flower:  stamp the largest flower image several times – turning the stamp a little with each stamp.  On this larger image, you’ll want to stamp off on a piece of scrap paper before stamping the card.  Then, repeat with the smaller – more detailed – image.  On these – use full strength ink (don’t stamp off first!).

Be sure to use a squishy mat under the card stock and to leave the stamp down on the card stock for a few beats with each stamp.  That helps to eliminate the “halo” around the cut-outs.

I used Crumb Cake to stamp the centers of the flowers – stamping twice in each flower, turning the stamp a little each time.  Then I added the little triple-dot image a few times in each flower in Crumb Cake.

I pulled out the Sorry For Everything stamp set and, using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to get it lined up, stamped the large sentiment in Early Espresso.  Then I added the smaller sentiment, too.  While I had the ink out, I stamped the cat face from the Spooky Cat stamp set (available tomorrow!).

To assemble the card front, I cut two more Stitched Shapes circles in Crushed Curry card stock and stacked them up with the stamped circle with Liquid Glue.  I also punched two more cats in Crushed Curry and stacked them.

Using Fast Fuse, I matted the main panel on Early Espresso and then to the card front.  Then I used Stampin’ Dimensionals and Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop the Circle on the card front, then did the same with the stacked Cat Punch shape.

I wrapped a piece of Jute Twine (available tomorrow!) around the panel, securing it in back with scotch tape and adhered a bow with Liquid Glue.  A Crushed Curry Enamel Shapes heart finished the card front.

On the inside, I ran several more Painted Harvest sunflowers down the side a Very Vanilla panel – stamping them exactly the same as I’d done on the card front.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to an Early Espresso mat and then into my Peekaboo Peach card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the line of Painted Harvest sunflowers across the front…

…and added a little more of the Painted Autumn DSP to the envelope flap.  And – when I saw that I’d gotten a little smudge of Crushed Curry on the back of the envelope…I “fixed it”.

Et Voila!  Painted Harvest Sunflowers and Cat Punch kitties.  Yep – that’ll work.  I like this card to send to someone who’s lost a dear kitty – I think it’ll be perfect!  And I sort of love how this Double Eclipse turned out!  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Sorry For Everything on a Whole Lot of Lovely

Good morning, y’all.  It’s Tuesday – and there’s exactly one week left in the month of July.  Which means there’s exactly one week left to…earn Bonus Days coupons and (more importantly!!) join us in Stampin’ Up! and cash in on the additional $72 in free goodies in the Essentials Pack.  Folks – really, now.  Do not miss this.  If I told you that you had to sign a 2 year contract with Stampin’ Up! – that would be one thing.  But all these free goodies…and at least a 20% discount…AND you can quit anytime?  Come on!  Not jumping on that is just…cray cray!! 🙂

My card for today is a pretty one – but for a sad occasion.  My friend’s friend lost her yellow lab recently.  So…an appropriate card was requested!  I used my usual non-Stampin’ Up! dog stamp and combined it wth the new Sorry For Everything stamp set and the oh-so-lovely Whole Lot of Lovely DSP.  Take a look-see:

As you can see, I opted for a no-sentiment card front.  Hold yer horses – the inside says it all! Continue reading
