Today’s thank you card is one that would work well for the guys on your list – or…pretty much anyone! It features the Holly Jolly Branches bundle – and I used sentiments from the Botanical Expressions stamp set to turn it into a thank you card! A Scalloped Christmas Cheer die cut frame and some Wood Grain Wonders DSP complete the woodsy picture. Take a look-see:
This card was inspired by a card from Mary Fish – and I tweaked it to be a non-Christmas-y and…masculine-appropriate…thank you card! 🙂
I started by adhering a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Pecan Pie Wood Grain Wonders DSP onto the front of my Pecan Pie card base using Liquid Glue.
I cut a 3 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ piece of the Wood Grain Wonders DSP (this time in Basic Beige) and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.
I adhered a 3 3/8″ x 4 3/8″ piece of Secret Sea cardstock to the card front. Then I used the next-to-largest Scalloped Christmas Cheer die to cut out a Basic Beige cardstock rectangle – which I adhered with Liquid Glue.
Using the dies in the Holly Jolly Branches set, I cut out three Mossy Meadow trees – one of each size – and two Secret Sea trees – both large.
I adhered the small Mossy Meadow tree and both Secret Sea trees to the card front with Liquid Glue and added the final two large Mossy Meadow trees with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Using Mini Glue Dots, I adhered a loop-d-doop of Secret Sea & Gold 1/4″ Satin Ribbon.
On the Basic Beige Wood Grain Wonders DSP, I stamped a Botanical Expressions sentiment in Secret Sea ink and cut it out with the Holly Jolly Branches label die. I adhered it over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Truth in crafting: as I wrote this post and looked at the card – and looked at the card – I realized the sentiment had a “hump”. So – when I was done – I went and carefully pulled it off the card front and re-adhered it with…DOUBLE-stacked Dimensionals. Don’t be like me – just use double-stacked to start with!
I added some Basic Beige Natural Matte Dots and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped a second Botanical Expressions sentiment in Secret Sea ink on a panel of the Basic Beige Wood Grain Wonders DSP. In the corner, I stamped the Holly Jolly Branches tree three times in Mossy Meadow ink – and added a few more of the Basic Beige Natural Matte Dots.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Pecan Pie card base and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Holly Jolly Branches trees on the front…
…and more of the Pecan Pie Wood Grain Wonders DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I hope that you already have the Holly Jolly Branches bundle but..if you do NOT – I hope this card shows that it doesn’t have to be JUST for Christmas cards! It’s a great option with a different sentiment – like those from the Botanical Expressions stamp set – and non-Christmas-y paper like I used here with the Wood Grain Wonders DSP! And I KNOW that YOU KNOW that the Scalloped Christmas Cheer dies are REALLY a handy new die set – and one that will be a work-horse for us!
