Good morning, y’all – did you have a good weekend? Ours was pretty good – not a lot happened – which is good in some ways, right?!
Just a PSA – tomorrow is the start of our DSP Sale – 25% off select papers – so…be sure to be making your lists, okay?!
For today – I couldn’t resist – I had to dig into my “NEW” stuff again! This time – the next thing I suspect that you figured I’d use sooner rather than later – the new Elegant Leaves bundle! I used it to make a cool and easy Thank You card! Take a look-see:
The layout for this card was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.
I did a quick video on how to make this card – which is posted on Instagram. If you’d like to give that a watch – click here!
I started by using the long die in the Elegant Leaves set (available on 1 Sept) to cut “woodgrain” into a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Gray Granite Two-tone Cardstock – with the light side up!
I ran the panel thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine five times – moving the die each time, until the entire panel was “embossed”. Tip: I started with the middle die cut – then did the two ends (left and right) and then finished it off with the two inner die cuts.
I adhered the panel to the front of my Gray Granite card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Using the dies in the Elegant Leaves set – I cut out some solid and detailed leaf die cuts:
– A large and a medium solid leaf from the light side of Cajun Craze Two-tone Cardstock
– A large and a medium detailed leaf from Cajun Craze cardstock
– Two medium and one small solid leaf from the dark side of Crisp Cantaloupe Two-tone cardstock
– Two medium and one small detailed leaf from Crisp Cantaloupe 2026-2028 In Color Pearlized Paper
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the detailed leaves to the solid leaves. From the top in the photo below
– #1: Small Crisp Cantaloupe Pearlized Paper detailed die cut to the small Crisp Cantaloupe Two-tone Cardstock solid leaf
– #2: Medium Cajun Craze detailed die cut to one of the medium Crisp Cantaloupe Two-tone Cardstock solid leaves
– #3: Large Cajun Craze detailed die cut to the large Cajun Craze Two-tone Cardstock solid leaf
– #4: Medium Crisp Cantaloupe Pearlized Paper detailed die cut to the second Crisp Cantaloupe Two-tone Cardstock solid leaf
– #5: Small Crisp Cantaloupe Pearlized Paper detailed die cut to the small Crisp Cantaloupe Two-tone Cardstock solid leaf
On a 1/2″ x 3″ piece of Crisp Cantaloupe Two-tone cardstock – with the light side up – I stamped an Elegant Leaves sentiment in Gray Granite ink. I slid the right end into the BACK of the middle banner in the Three Banner Punch and used it to cut a banner in the right end.
Starting at the top, I adhere the leaves to the card front using Liquid Glue.
After I adhered the large leaf (#3) – I used Liquid Glue to adhere the sentiment to the card front. Then I continued adding the leaves with Liquid Glue.
I tied a bow from a length of Gray Granite Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a dab of Liquid Glue.
I added five Cajun Craze dots from the Painted Patch Adhesive-backed Dots (these are new in the Painted Patch Suite – available on 1 Sept in the new catalog) – and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped a medium leaf from the Elegant Leaves set in Cajun Craze ink in the bottom corner of the light side of a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe Two-tone Cardstock.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Gray Granite card base and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the medium Elegant Leaves leaf in Cajun Craze on the front…
…and I stamped the small leaf image in Cajun Craze on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Well – here’s another outta-the-park bundle that you’ll be able to get on 1 Sept! Elegant Leaves combines stamped images, pretty sentiments and awesome die cuts. I promise you’re going to want it!
If you’d like to recreate this card, all the products and card cuts you’ll need are down below! And as mentioned above, I posted a quick video on how to make it out on Instagram. Here ’tis on YouTube if you’d like to take a look-see.

2026 BACK TO SCHOOL SALES TAX HOLIDAYS!
Thirteen states – plus Puerto Rico! – will have Sales Tax Holidays for school supplies in July and August and some Stampin’ Up! items qualify for the tax break in those states! According to state statutes, “items normally used by students in a standard classroom for educational purposes” are eligible. And – this includes select Stampin’ Up! products! BOOM!
The states with upcoming tax holidays are: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts**, Missouri, New Mexico, Ohio**, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia and Puerto Rico. So, if you live in one of those states or Puerto Rico, take a second to download the sheet below and mark your calendar! NOTE: The table on the left shows the states, their dates, and the limit. The right-hand table shows the SU! Items that qualify! And yes – ALL the Stampin’ Dimensionals qualify!! 😎
**MA & OH Special Note: Unlike the other participating states, Massachusetts and Ohio are not limited to the products listed in this document. Additional current Stampin’ Up! products may qualify based on each state’s exemption rules and price limits. (MA limit: $2,500 per item; OH limit: $20 per item.)
How Exemption Limits Work: Sales tax will not be applied to qualifying items priced at or below the exemption limit specified for each state. There is no limit to the quantity of qualifying items that may be purchased, provided each individual item does not exceed the applicable state limit.
Please note: You have to place your order with Stampin’ Up! DURING the tax holiday period in your state in order to receive these items tax-free (so – that’s from MIDNIGHT local time on the first day to MIDNIGHT local time on the last day of the tax holiday). Also, keep in mind that this is a STATE SALES TAX holiday and the state statute may not apply to county, city, and special jurisdiction taxes.
For those wondering about Georgia, Louisiana, New Jersey and Wisconsin, those states will NOT have the sales tax holiday this year. Whaawaaaaa…. 🙁
If you’re in one of the thirteen states or Puerto Rico – happy tax-saving!
