Good morning, y’all – welcome to another edition of the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team blog hop! Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month our theme is Celebrate Summer! Be sure to check out everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!
For me – summer and beach go hand-in-hand! So – I pulled out the fun Online Exclusive Summer Splash bundle and some cheery paper from the 2026-2028 In Color Painted Patterns DSP to bring the beach to today’s card. Take a look-see:
I started with five 1″ x 3 5/8″ pieces of 2026-2028 In Color Painted Patterns DSP – three in Hydrangea Hue and two in Crisp Cantaloupe. Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the strips to a 3 5/8″ x 5″ piece of Basic White cardstock – butting the edges right up to each other. Then I trimmed 1/16″ from the top and bottom – ending up with a 3 5/8″ x 4 7/8″ panel.
I adhered the panel to a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Basic Black cardstock for the card front.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the partial floatie image from the Splash & Relax bundle in Crisp Cantaloupe ink. Then, over the top, I stamped the FULL floatie image in Daffodil Delight ink. Then I cut it out with the coordinating die in the bundle and adhered it with Liquid Glue.
I used the dies in the Summer Splash set to cut out two Basic Black cardstock flip flop “soles” and a pair of flip flop straps from Barely Blush 2026-2028 In Color Pearlized Specialty Paper. I adhered the straps to the soles with Liquid Glue and then adhered them both with some Liquid Glue.
I used the dies to cut out the sunglasses frame from a piece of Hydrangea Hue 2026-2028 In Color Pearlized Specialty Paper. I cut the lenses from Basic Black cardstock and adhered them to the frame with Liquid Glue.
I adhered the glasses to the card front with Liquid Glue.
On a 3/8″ x 3 1/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped a Splash & Relax sentiment in Hydrangea Hue ink. Using scissors, I snipped an angle in both ends and adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added seven white Sunset Sparkling Sequins and the card front was done.
On the inside, I stamped a second Splash & Relax sentiment in Hydrangea Hue on a Basic White panel. Down at the bottom, I stamped the floatie three times in Crisp Cantaloupe and Daffodil Delight ink.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of my Daffodil Delight card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Splash & Relax floatie on the front…
…and more of the 2026-2028 In Color Painted Patterns DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I love that this Splash & Relax card could be a birthday card, a retirement card, or a card for any special person’s special day! And the fun new 2026-2028 In Color Painted Patterns DSP – this is our new color family DSP – just brings the bright cheery colors of the beach, don’t you think?
