Stampin’ UP! CAS Light & Wonder Thank You Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a theme challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

Now – the card I made today is totally in line with the challenge and I am, frankly, amazed that I actually made it!  It’s all in Secret Sea and white and uses the beautiful Light & Wonder bundle with a smidge of coordinating Lights of Aurora DSP!  Take a look-see:

And – here’s our theme challenge!

Now – I DID see a card made similarly – but…I’m hornswaggled on where that was – or who did it!  If it’s YOU – let me know so I can give you credit, please! 🙂

I started with a piece of cardstock and, using scissors, cut “mountains” from the panel.  The negative side became my “mask”.

I used the mask on a piece of 3 3/4″ wide by 3 1/2″ long piece of Basic White cardstock.

I placed the negative side near the bottom of the panel and, using a Small Blending Brush – added Secret Sea ink to create mountains.  I moved the mask up – and offset it (to stagger the “peaks”) and made another range – slightly lighter.  I repeated that a few times – leaving a little white space near the top.

Using the smaller forest die in the Light & Wonder set, I cut it out of a 2″ tall – by about 5″ wide – piece of Secret Sea cardstock.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the die cut trees to the bottom of the sponged panel – aligning the bottom edges – then trimmed the excess from the sides with scissors.

I used the Paper Trimmer to cut the panel into three equal pieces – each 1 1/4″ x 3 1/2″.  I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the three pieces to a 4″ x 3 5/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock.

I set the matted piece into place on the front of my Thick Basic White cardstock and then used it as a guide to stamp “Wonder” in Secret Sea ink.  Then I stamped the “You are a” above.

I adhered the matted piece to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals – added three silver Adhesive-backed Metallic Gems and the card front was done.

On the inside, I lined up sticky notes across a Basic White panel and then used my masks above it to make another mountain range.

When I lifted up the sticky note, I stamped another Light & Wonder sentiment in Secret Sea ink just below the range.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Thick Basic White card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got a shorter mountain range on the front…

…and a little Lights of Aurora DSP on the envelope front.

Et Voila!  Oh how I love this forest-y die cut from the Light & Wonder bundle!! And the mix-and-match sentiments are really pretty – love that big, scripty font!! And the coordinating Lights of Aurora DSP is stunning!  🙂

  7. Terry Lynn Bright

Wonderful mountain shading with your Blending Brushes!

  8. What a stunning card. Thank you for sharing the trick on how to make the mountains. The sentiment is a perfect match for the image.

  9. I love howBlog comment creation you used the negative cut as a mask to create the layered mountain effect—it really gives the card so much depth without adding bulk. Offsetting the peaks to get that staggered range was such a clever touch, and it makes the whole scene feel more natural and dynamic.
