Stampin’ UP! Snowy Peace on Earth Bay Window Card with Video

Happy half-way-thru-the-weekend, y’all!  Hope you’re having a good one – we had a really nice time with our friends yesterday – ate pizza and snacks and salad (see – we’re healthy!) and dessert!  The two kids (teen-agers) rode the four-wheeler – fed the pony peppermints – and explored the pond and my craft room!  It was nice of them to come down and I hope we can do it again, soon!

Today’s card is a bay window fun fold – this one decked for Christmas time with the Peace on Earth bundle and some Snowy Delight die cut snowflakes.  It’s all anchored with Peaceful Garden DSP – so pretty!  Take a look-see:

I started with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Crumb Cake cardstock that I scored at 1/4″, 1 1/2″, 3 1/4″, 4 1/2″ and 5 1/2 along the long side.

I started folding at the 5 1/2″ score line – folding it as a mountain.  The next score line is a valley – then mountain – mountain – valley (this is the 1/4″ line).

Using Liquid Glue just between the 4 1/2″ and 5 1/2” score lines, I adhered the front of the card base to the back – just in that 1” area.  If this sounds familiar – it’s like making a book-fold card! 🙂

I stamped a cute snowflake image from the Snowy Delight set in Secret Sea ink all over two strips of Cloud Cover Peaceful Garden DSP.  Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere those strips to the middle panels of the card.  I used the star-strewn pieces on the first and middle panels.

On a 1″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, I adhered the final piece of Peaceful Garden DSP with Liquid Glue.  Then I adhered the strip on the back of the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Note – I kept the Dimensionals away from the left  edge of the strip – so that there’s room for the little 1/4″ piece to slide in and create the “bay window.”

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped a sentiment from Peace on Earth in Secret Sea ink.  I stamped the Snowy Delights snowflakes in stamped-off-once Secret Sea ink.

Then I adhered the panel to the inside of the card with Liquid Glue.

For the front – I used the two large detailed snowflake dies from Snowy Delights to cut out a large blue and a smaller pale green (it really looks silver to me!) snowflake from Peaceful Garden Glimmer Paper.  I adhered the silver snowflake to the blue star – and then to the middle panel of the card front – with Liquid Glue.

Using Glue Dots, I adhered a loop-d-loop of Misty Moonlight & Silver Edged 1/2″ Ribbon.

On a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, I stamped a Snowy Delights sentiment in Secret Sea ink and cut it out with the smaller label die from the Peace on Earth set.  Then I stamped the Snowy Delights snowflakes around the sentiment in stamped-off-once Secret Sea ink.

I popped the sentiment onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut out one of each of the doves from the Peace on Earth set from Basic White.  I also cut two twigs – there’s a die for that – from the pale green (silver!) Peaceful Garden Glimmer Paper.

Using Liquid Glue – I adhered the twigs “into” their beaks and then adhered them to the sentiment with Liquid Glue – and the card was done!

You can see the shape of the bay window….

…it’s a really nice display card!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Snowy Delights snowflakes in stamped-off-once Secret Sea on the front…

…and more of the Peaceful Garden DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Okay – this is one of my favorite fun folds – it’s really easy (like a book-fold that’s been souped WAAAY up) but also really cool!!  It’s a fun card that stands up so beautifully to display the pretty Snowy Delights snowflakes and Peace on Earth doves!  And I love the blues of the Peaceful Garden DSP, don’t you?!

Buy a calendar for yourself and gift one to a crafty friend because crafting really is more fun together.

We only have a limited number of calendars in store, so don’t wait – you can pick one (or more!) up right now!

Now – what’s IN each day’s window is a total secret – even I don’t know!  Well, I DID get a little peek at the first two days and…they’re cute and pretty!  But..I’m not telling cuz…opening each day’s little door and seeing the surprise is half the fun!

But…trust me – these gifts are NOT just for Christmas.  While the 12 Days of Crafting Advent Calendar box is themed with Christmas baubles, berries, boughs and bows, the products inside the doors are very much NOT Christmas-themed.  You’ll find goodies you can use for birthday, thank you and thinking-of-you cards you’ll be able to send all year long!

Note: this isn’t a kit – it’s a collection of unique products so….you WILL need a few basic supplies on hand to use them —like the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, scissors, and your go-to adhesive!
