Stampin’ Up! Plaid Loveliest Tree Double-Gate Fold Birthday Card with Video

Well – we did it again!  Made it to Friday!  Hope your week closes out nicely – and that you have something fun planned for the weekend! 🙂

My card today is a so-easy fun fold – it’s almost TOO easy to be CALLED a fun fold!  But… it IS.  It’s a double-gate fold card and it would be a great one for sending Happy Birthday wishes to anyone!  It showcases the Loveliest Tree stamp set and bundled dies and…one of my fave papers ever – the Timeless Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP.  Take a look-see:

I started with a 5 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Calypso Coral cardstock – and on the long side, scored it at 2″ and 3 3/4″.  Then I flipped the cardstock around 180 degrees and scored it at 2″ and 3 3/4″ from the other end.  Okay – I did the math for you – if you don’t want to do all the flipping and flopping – score at 2″, 3 3/4″, 7 1/4″ and 9″.  You’re welcome! 🙂

Fold the two inside score lines (3 3/4″ and 7 1/4″) “IN” and the inner score lines (2″ and 9″) in the other direction.  AKA “OUT”.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere Timeless Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP panels to the four gate panels.

For the inner liner, use the brush end of the Mossy Meadow (for the leaves) and Pecan Pie (for the stems) Stampin’ Write Markers to color the little leaf stamp from the Loveliest Tree stamp set.  When it was colored I “huffed” on the stamp (like I was trying to fog a window or mirror to draw a smiley face) and stamped in the corner of a Basic White panel.

I adhered the panel to the inside of the card base with Liquid Glue.

For the front, I used the largest Stylish Shapes square die to cut out a Basic White square.  Down at the bottom, I stamped the Loveliest Tree sentiment in Calypso Coral ink.

I used the marker-to-rubber technique again on the large Loveliest Tree image.  I used the Mossy Meadow marker on the tree leaves and grasses at the base of the tree and the Pecan Pie marker for the trunk and branches.  I huffed it and stamped it on a piece of Basic White cardstock.

I used the coordinating die in the set to cut out the tree.

Using Stampin’ Seal +, I  adhered a loop-d-loop bow of Mossy Meadow & Gold 1/4″ Ribbon.

Over the ribbon, I adhered the die cut tree with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added three Mossy Meadow dots from the Muted Palette Dots.

I used Liquid Glue on the left hand front gate panel to adhere the die cut square – centering it on the closed card front – and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the little leaf from Loveliest Tree on the front…

…and more of the Timeless Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  See?  SUPER easy fun fold!  And the combination of the Loveliest Tree bundle and amazeballs Timeless Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP is so good, right?!  I think this would be a great candidate for a card for the guys on your birthday card list!

BACK-TO-SCHOOL SALES TAX HOLIDAYS COMING UP!

The 2025 back-to-school sales tax holiday season begins this weekend and there are twelve states (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Ohio, South Caroling, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia) offering a sales tax holiday for school supplies during the months of July and August. Products that are eligible according to the statute include “items normally used by students in a standard classroom for educational purposes.”  Click the table below to open the chart and see what is available and when! 🙂

Please note that you must place your order with Stampin’ Up! DURING the tax holiday period to receive these items tax-free. Also, keep in mind that this is a STATE SALES TAX holiday; the state statute may not apply to county, city, and special jurisdiction taxes.

ALABAMIANS…this is YOUR weekend! 🙂

For all y’all that live in Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, New Jersey, and Wisconsin…sorry!  Those states suspended the sales tax holiday again this year. 🙁

I got a nice letter from the Greater Good Organization thanking me – US!! – for our donation.  I wanted to pass along some of it – so that you can see what YOU did!

A PSA for all the leaders out there... | Amy Curtin

“Because of you, Greater Good Charities was able to mobilize swiftly in response to the devastating flooding in Texas. Your gift made it possible for us to deliver essential humanitarian and pet supplies where they’re needed most—supporting first responders, law enforcement, and families navigating loss and uncertainty.

Working hand-in-hand with trusted local partners, we’re ensuring that the aid we provide is both timely and impactful. As new storms bring renewed flooding and search and rescue operations continue—our team is preparing for the long road of recovery ahead. We invite you to read our latest article for a deeper look at our response and what your support is making possible for communities in need.

With your contribution, we’ll continue to fill critical gaps as initial supplies run low—providing lifesaving transport, access to veterinary care, and ongoing relief for people and pets alike. Your compassion is already making a tangible difference—and it will continue to ripple out in the weeks and months to come.”

THANK YOU ALL!

Even with our fundraiser ended – there remains a huge need!  Greater Good, Mercury One, Samaritans Purse, Mission Mules – all doing God’s work.

And – there’s still a need for homes for pets.

The local Kerrville animal shelter is actively seeking folks who would be willing and able to adopt pets who have become parent-less as a result of the flooding.  So sad.  If it’s in your heart and you are able – here’s a link for you.

I bark you bark we all bark for…PUMPKIN!

I personally prefer my pumpkin in pies.  Or bread.  Or cheesecake – with chocolate!  But…they’re not quite as picky!
