Stampin’ Up! Wonderful Scenic Adventure A2 Size Fan Fold Congratulations Card with Video

Good morning, y’all – and Happy Sunday AND first day of June!  Hard to believe how fast this year is going!

Now – today’s post is going to look a lot (like a LOT A LOT) like my post from Friday – when I showed you how to make an A2 Sized Fan Fold Card.  Why would you do that, Mary!?  Most excellent question.  The answer to which is…because I borked uploading the VIDEO on how to make this kind of card and I really REALLY wanted y’all to HAVE a video.  And…here ’tis!

So – I made that one again – but…I changed it to a more masculine card – using the Timeless Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP (one of my all-time favorite packs of paper!) and the Scenic Adventure bundle.  A die cut sentiment from the Wonderful Thoughts stamp set and dies to finish it off.  Take a look-see:

I started with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ Basic Beige card base – scored and folded at 4 1/4″.  I made a little pencil mark at the top of the card base – 1 3/4″ from the RIGHT side – and then used my Paper Trimmer to cut from the mark to the bottom right corner.  And I saved that triangle for later.

I made the same measurement (1 3/4″) on a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock and cut off a triangle from it, too – this is the mat for the card front and I adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I cut down a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of the my Timeless Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP and adhered it with Liquid Glue.  Note – this plaid – with the Old Olive in it –  is “Design 1″ on the video AND on the card cuts list down below.

For the inside, I ran a 4″ x 5 1/4” piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine with the little stars and moon die from the Scenic Adventure die set in place in the top right corner.  Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Basic Beige card base.

Then,  I cut a triangle (1 3/4″ from the right edge) from a Basic White panel for the inner liner.

Using the tree-line die from Scenic Adventure, I cut out a tree-line from a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock.  Using Liquid Glue, I adhered it across the bottom of the Basic White panel – then used Paper Snips to trim the excess on the angled side of the panel.

I stamped a Wonderful Thoughts sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink and then stamped the single pine tree image from the Scenic Adventure set over the sentiment in stamped-off-once Old Olive ink.  I stamped the tree a second time without re-inking.  Then I adhered the panel to the Mossy Meadow mat.  Note: I used a new Black .04 Stampin’ Journaling Pen to cross out “can” and write in “will”.  But that’s just because of who I’m sending this card to and why! 🙂

Now – to make the “fans” on the front.

For the bottom fan – I cut a 3 1/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic Beige cardstock into two triangles – keeping the right-side triangle for the base of the fan.  I did the same to a 3″ x 4 3/4″ piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock and a 2 3/4″ x 4 1/2″ piece of Timeless Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP  (this time in Design 2 – in this case the plaid WITHOUT the Old Olive in it!).

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the mat to the base and then the DSP to the mat – and the bottom fan was ready to go!

I adhered the completed bottom fan to the card front with Liquid Glue – making sure the tip was nestled right down into the bottom left corner of the card front – and that the top corners didn’t extend past the edges of the card base.

Yeah.  Like I said – check out the video.  I TOLD you it was easier to SHOW than to WRITE! And – hopefully, THIS time the video will actually BE available to watch! 😉

For the top fan – I made smaller Mossy Meadow and Timeless Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP (using Design 1 again) triangles just like I did for the bottom fan.  Then I adhered them to that Basic Beige triangle that I’d cut from the card base.

Once again, I adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue – tucking that long tip down into the corner of the card base and “centering” the top of the triangle on the bottom triangle.

And – that’s all there is to making a fan card!

Now – to decorate!

Using the next-to-largest Stylish Shapes circle die, I cut out a Lost Lagoon circle – which I then embossed in the Birch 3D Embossing Folder.

I used the large Scenic Adventure mountain die to cut out a Basic Beige mountain.  With the next-to-largest Stylish Shapes circle die – I cut out part of the mountain die cut.  I adhered that to the Lost Lagoon circle with some Liquid Glue.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the circle to the card front.

I cut out two two-tree Scenic Adventure pine tree die cuts – one from Mossy Meadow and one in Old Olive.  I adhered them to the circle on the card front.  Then I cut a smaller single-tree die cut from Old Olive and added it as well.

I tied a bow from two lengths of Linen Thread and adhered it with a little Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic Beige cardstock, I stamped the Wonderful Thoughts sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink, then used the coordinating Wonderful Thoughts die to cut it out.

I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment over the bow – and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Scenic Adventure pine tree in Old Olive ink – twice without re-inking – on the front…

…and more of the Timeless Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Once again – this isn’t a light, thin card – it’s going to need extra postage, for sure.  I STILL think it’s worth it!!  😎  The Timeless Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP is one of my very FAVORITE papers – I am so happy that it stuck around as an Online Exclusive!! I love it for this A2 Sized Fan Fun Fold card!  The fun Scenic Adventure bundle (also an Online Exclusive) works perfectly with the paper to create masculine cards – and more!  The all-sentiments-all-the-time Wonderful Thoughts stamp set and coordinating dies (in the 2025-2026 Annual Catalog) are uber-handy – die cut sentiment, anyone?!

Such a cool card! So glad that the video “stayed” where it was supposed to this time!! 🙂 Sweet little puppy…always on the lookout for something to bark at. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Yes. Yes she is. And – she’d perfectly willing to bark when there is NOTHING to bark at! 🤦‍♀️. Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  2. JudiH

Great video, great instructions! Thanks for sharing😍

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks much! I’m glad you liked it! 🙂

  3. Karen Lang

LOVE that card…..I have seen the fan card around but thinking it was too difficult, I sort of scrapped the idea. Well, you made it simple & for an A2 size…..GREAT!! I also noticed the glue bottle…..it’s bigger then usual. I looked at our SU catalog & that size it not available…..will it be available? This card plan is on the table in my future card making……it is great as masculine or feminine…..good job demoing!!

    • stampsnlingers

Hey Karen – no – that was a gift from a team member – it’s not a Stampin’ Up! thing and I’ve not heard any rumors that it MIGHT be! Glad you liked the card – and I hope you’ll hove it a try! Thank you! 🙂

  4. marlene kiley

Mary you out did your self on this June 1st card (wonderful thoughts). It is awesome but don’t think I’d try to make this myself, wouldn’t have the patience.
Cute scene with both doggies, Finn looks so big next to the little dog. Always brings a smile to my face when I see animals.

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks so much, Marlen – I’m glad that you like it. I hope you WILL give it a try – it’s pretty easy! 🙂

  5. Love this card. I have got to get brave enough to try one of these. I will listen again to your video. Addy is so cute standing guard over Finn. He is getting so big, must have eaten a lot while Mom was gone. You know how boys are they cheat when Mom isn’t around.

    • stampsnlingers

LOL – he might have put a little on – but not much! He played HARD at the kennel! :). Give this card a try, Shirley – it’s a lot easier than it looks! Thanks! 🙂
