Stampin’ Up! Bokeh Friends For Life Happy For You Card

Happy Happy Hawwwmp Day, y’all!  Hope you’re having a great week!  We’re bracing for more winter – at least that’s what folks are thinking.  They’ve already gone to virtual school in some areas north of us in anticipation of severe winter weather.  So…I guess I better make some bread, huh?!  Maybe make sure the generator is ready to fire up – don’t want to have to make a run to Starbucks if it actually DOES get bad! 😳

My card today belies the fact that it’s still winter, in bright Daffodil Delight and Berry Burst – thanks to the Beautiful Bokeh 6″ x 6″ DSP.  A heart and die cut sentiment from the Friends for Life bundle is a happy focal point!  Remember these from the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog?! Take a look-see:

I got the theme idea from the Word Week challenge over at the Just Us Girls challenge this week.

I started with a piece of Daffodil Delight paper from the Beautiful Bokeh DSP and stamped it all over with the Friends for Life leaf image in Daffodil Delight ink.  Then I matted the panel on Berry Burst card stock for the card front.

I used the two heart dies from the Friends for Life die set – the solid heart to cut out another piece of Beautiful Bokeh DSP – this one in Berry Burst.  Note – when you use this die, it doesn’t completely cut the heart out – just use your snips to cut off the last little bit.  I used the detailed die to cut out a Basic White heart.

With Liquid Glue, I adhered the white heart to the Berry Burst heart and then popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I made the die cut Friends for Life sentiment by cutting the shadow from Daffodil Delight and the detailed part from the Berry Burst Beautiful Bokeh DSP.  I used little dots of Liquid Glue on the back of the detailed sentiment to adhere it to its shadow.

I made a “custom” sentiment using two of the sentiments in the Friends for Life set – it’s a photopolymer set so it’s easy to do!  I inked just “FOR YOU” from the “SO EXCITED FOR YOU” image in Berry Burst and stamped it on Basic White.  I cut it out with Paper Snips.

Then I inked and stamped just “SO” in Berry Burst on a piece of Basic White.  Next to the “SO” – I inked and stamped “HAPPY” – from the HAPPY BIRTHDAY” image.  Then I cut it out, too!

I used some Stampin’ Dimensionals and Liquid Glue to adhere the layered die cut sentiment onto the heart – then added the two fussy cut “custom” sentiments with more Dimensionals.

Some Purple Adhesive-backed Sequins (these are FREE during Sale-a-Bration with a $60 order!) finished off the card front!

On the inside, I simply stamped the little two-heart image from Friends for Life in Berry Burst ink in the corner of a Basic White panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of my Thick Basic White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Friends for Life hearts in Berry Burst on the front…

….then I stamped the Friends for Life leaf in Daffodil Delight across a piece of Beautiful Bokeh DSP to add to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The Friends for Life stamp set is really pretty – with several buildable sentiments.  But you can sort of make your own “custom” sentiments by judicious inking and stamping – like I’ve done here!  And the bundled die set lets you cut hearts and a pretty leaf, too!  The Beautiful Bokeh 6″ x 6″ DSP gives you a nice muted design on vibrant colors!!
