Stampin’ Up! Hello Ocean Friends Card

Good morning and happy Inauguration Day! Its a big day for our Country!  And it’s also Martin Luther King Day – so…you may have the day off, too!  Bonus!

My card today is a super easy underwater scene thanks to a sentiment and glimmer die cut coral from the Ocean Friends bundle and a few crustaceans from the coordinating Friends of the Ocean DSP!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.I did a quick video on how to make this cool card, which is posted on Instagram.  If you’d like to give that a watch – click here!

I started with a 3 3/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of the Friends of the Ocean DSP.  Using the wavy edge die from the Ocean Friends die set – I cut off both long edges.  I aligned the top of the waves with the edge on both sides – using a sticky note to hold the die in place, if needed.

I adhered the die cut panel, using Liquid Glue, to the front of my Calypso Coral card base.

Using the Ocean Friends dies – I cut out a Summer Splash 2024-2026 In Color Glimmer Specialty Paper coral – and three little starfish (from some of the Pumpkin Pie Friends of the Ocean DSP).

I adhered the coral to the bottom of the card front with Liquid Glue – then added the starfish with Liquid Glue, too.  Tip: they’ll need a little extra time to dry on the Glimmer Paper!

Using the crab die in the Ocean Friends set, I cut out a Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie crab from the Friends of the Ocean DSP.

I adhered the Melon Mambo crustacean with Liquid Glue then added the second crabby fellow with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a strip of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Ocean Friends sentiment in Summer Splash ink.  I adhered the sentiment with Liquid Glue and a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo Sunny Days Iridescent Dots and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped the coral image from Ocean Friends once in Summer Splash ink and twice in stamped-off-once Summer Splash.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of my Calypso Coral card base and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Ocean Friends coral on the front…

…and more Friends of the Ocean DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  How fun is this suite?!  I love the cheerful colors of the Friends of the Ocean DSP, don’t you?!  And there’s the added fun from the coordinating Ocean Friends bundle – with dies that cut out several shapes from the DSP – and handy images and sentiments, too! Winner winner!

If you’d like to recreate this project, all the products and card cuts you’ll need are down below! And – as mentioned above, I posted a quick video on how to make this card out on Instagram.  Here ’tis on YouTube if you’d like to take a look-see.

Note to self.

When the Man is being a little too…cozy…while Dad is eating lunch – and you tell him to “go lie down”….

…you need to be a little more…specific about…WHERE!! 🤦‍♀️
