Stampin’ UP! Citrus-y Mediterranean Blooms Just Checking In Card

Happy Monday, y’all!  Did you have a good weekend?

My card today reminded me of Sorrento, Italy – the lemon capital of…well, the WORLD?!  I dunno if that’s true but they DO grow a TON of lemons and are very proud of them!  It was the pretty Mediterranean Blooms DSP that did it for me – and then I added a quick sentiment from the Citrus Blooms stamp set and a die cut orange bunch that I cut right from the DSP with the die set (I LOVE that!).  Take a look-see:

I did a quick video on how to make this one, which is posted on Instagram.  You can see it on YouTube right here!

I saw this DSP-saving design over on Jackie Bolhuis’ blog and…thought it would be a pretty place to start with this new Suite! It’s a great design for using every bit of our fabulous DSP!

I cut eight 1 1/4″ x 1 1/4″ pieces of the Mediterranean Blooms DSP and – using Liquid Glue – adhered them around three edges of a Basic White panel using Liquid Glue.

The sentiment panel is a Basic White square – 2 3/8″ x 2 3/8″ – with the sweet Citrus Blooms sentiment stamped in Night of Navy ink.

I matted that square on Night of Navy and adhered it in the open area with Liquid Glue.

Using Stampin’ Seal+, I adhered a figure-8 bow (made with four loops of Linen Thread) to the card front.

I used the dies in the Citrus Blooms set to cut out four cardstock leaves – two in Old Olive and two in Garden Green.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the leaves to the sentiment square.

I used the die in Citrus Blooms to cut out one of the smaller orange bunches from one of the designs in Mediterranean Blooms.

I adhered the die cut DSP blooms over the Linen Thread with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Tip: this is one of those times when it’s easiest to place the Dimensionals on the card front – versus on the die cut – so that you can avoid the Linen Thread!

I added five Daffodil Delight Opal Rounds and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second Citrus Blooms sentiment in Night of Navy on a Basic White panel.  Next to it, I stamped one of the small flowers from the set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I colored the flower with my Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends and added another of the Daffodil Delight Opal Rounds to the middle of the flower.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Night of Navy card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the small Citrus Blooms flower on the front…

…and more Mediterranean Blooms DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  Can’t you just smell the lemons and oranges, now!?  The Mediterranean Blooms DSP is one of the prettiest I’ve seen in a long time- the colors are so vibrant and gorgeous!  The coordinating Citrus Blooms bundle holds up its end of the deal perfectly – even going so far as to cut out the DSP images!  Whoo-hoo!

Finn Fan Fix

I took Finn to the groomer the other day for his Post-Boarding De-tangle.

This was a lesson I learned the hard way after the LAST time he boarded where he was able to swim a lot!

He was surprisingly NOT tangled – Abby did a great job getting him ready before he went to Camp – she de-shedded the heck out of him and used a conditioner to help him stay tangle free-ish.

He came home even more boo-tiful that he USUALLY is!

Soft and white…silky and bright…

You TOTALLY sang that last line to the tune of Edelweis from Sound of Music, didn’t you?!  Amy….’fess up! 😉

Such a pretty card! Love the colors and that big die cut image is so beautiful! Finn does look all fluffy and soft…how long did it take before he rubbed himself in the dirt?? And no…I didn’t sing that awful song! 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

Thank you, ma’am! But…I feel like you might have hummed a little…. 😉

  2. Wendie

Stunning card. Thank you for the tutorial.

    • stampsnlingers

You are most welcome – thank you! 🙂

  3. Poor Amy…how you do torment her! I watched you create this card on Instagram before I looked at your blog. You love to torment me with more DSP and bundles I need to put in my order tomorrow…lol! Finn, oh what a handsome man!! Italy…did you watch Ciao House on Food Network last night? It was a good show and I enjoyed seeing the Italian coast again. I have a master plumber/contractor coming tonight and he and his wife just returned from Italy. They are already planning their next trip to return. Sounds familiar, I bet! Kits…I love them because they are easy to put together, easy to travel with AND great for getting new people interested in card making.

    • stampsnlingers

I KNOW – I am so mean!! But – she WAS humming the song, I’m almost certain of it!! LOL! Yes – I’ll go back to Italy as soon as I can – I love it there!! Thanks, Karen! 🙂
