Stampin’ Up! Simple Sweet Notes of Nature Birthday Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I’d been wanting to play with the Nature’s Sweetness DSP again – one design in particular – and when I saw the sketch – I knew this was the time!  So – I pulled it – and the Notes of Nature bundle – out and went to town on a pretty – and easy! – birthday card.  Take a look-see:

And here’s our sketch!

I started by trimming the piece of the Nature’s Sweetness Specialty DSP down to card-front size and then matting it on Old Olive cardstock for the card front.

Next, I used my Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive and Pecan Pie Watercolor Pencils to color the image.  I really just sort of colored over the shading marks on the printed image to add a little sumpin’-sumpin’ – easy peasy!

I used the pretty die from the Notes of Nature die set to cut out two leaves from Distressed Gold Specialty Paper and adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue.

With a strip or two of Stampin’ Seal – I adhered a loop-d-loop of Gold 1/8″ Faux Leather Trim.

On a strip of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Notes of Nature sentiment in Flirty Flamingo ink.

Then I matted it on Old Olive and popped it over the leather trim with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added some Neutrals Adhesive-backed Sequins and…boom!  The card front was done!

For the inside, I stamped a Notes of Nature image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink in the corner of a Basic White panel.  I colored it with the Watercolor Pencils and added a couple more of those sequins – cuz…they’re flat and pretty and I LOVE them! 😎

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Old Olive mat and into my Flirty Flamingo card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Notes of Nature image stamped and colored on the front…

…and a different design (there are SO many wunnermus designs to choose from!) on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Wow – every time I pull the Nature’s Sweetness Specialty DSP out of the drawer, I love it a little bit more!  Pecan Pie is such a perfect neutral – and it also has notes of Pebbled Path – another fave!  The Notes of Nature stamp set and bundled dies are chock-a-block full of “All the Things” – not least of which is the simply perfect foliage die that I used here to make gorgeouns Distressed Gold leaves!
