Good morning and happy Friday! Headed into the last weekend before the LAST weekend (aka – the last shopping days!) before Christmas! We finally put the tree up so…guess it’s on like Donkey Kong!
My card today is another sneaky peek at what I’d call a fly-over set in the new Jan-Apr 2024 Mini Catalog – available for ordering on 4 Jan! By that I mean – you might skim right past it on your first – or fourth! – trip thru the catty. But – I want you to go back and take a gander at the Let’s Chat set. It’s too cute to miss! Take a look-see:
I know, right?! 😎
Now – the fun color palette was inspired by The Paper Players color challenge this week.
I started by adhering a piece of Tahitian Tide paper from the 2022-2024 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP to a piece of Basic Black cardstock for the card front.
Next up is a square of NEW Most Adored DSP – also matted on Basic Black, and adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.
Y’all – this new paper is gorgeous – in reds and pinks and gold foil. AND – it’s going to be a FREE selection during Sale-A-Bration!! So – with an order of $50 or greater (before shipping & tax) – you might select this beautiful pack of 12″ x 12″ paper! It coordinates perfectly with the Adoring Hearts Bundle (page 18 – $53) in the new Mini Catalog, too!
Using Stampin’ Seal, I adhered a loop-d-loop of Tahitian Tide 3/8″ Metallic Weave Ribbon.
Next up, for the art/sentiment, I used the largest Nested Essentials die to cut out a Basic White shape.
Near the bottom, I stamped the phone base in Melon Mambo ink.
Then I added the too-cute-for-words sentiment/cord in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
Note: Stamp the sentiment so that the WORD is centered on the cradle of the phone base – and be thinking about where your receiver image is going to end up!
I stamped the Let’s Chat receiver in Melon Mambo, fitting it into the remaining space and making sure that the back of the receiver met up with the end of the sentiment/cord.
I stamped the little sound image (that’s the three little shapes at the front of the receiver) in Tahitian Tide ink.
I adhered the shape over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals, added some black Classic Matte Dots and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped the receiver in Melon Mambo on a piece of Basic White cardstock. Then I added the second cord image – the one without a “word” in it – in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. The sentiment started with the word bubble image from Let’s Chat in stamped-off-once Tahitian Tide. Then I stamped the sentiment itself in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I totally “borrowed” this idea from the sample in the catalog – I never would have thought of it! 🤷♀️
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Tahitian Tide card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Melon Mambo receiver, Tahitian Tide ring “sounds”, and “ring” a couple times in Tuxedo Black on the front…
…and a little more Most Adored DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Seriously – this is the cutest stamp set! We had a good ole time on the video yesterday reminiscing about this style of phone. The Let’s Chat set is a perfect little set for sending a pick-me-up, a What’s Up!?, a how-ya-doin’ card. As I said at the start – it’s just too cute to miss! And the beautiful Most Adored DSP – well, it’s gorgeous AND free. So…SCORE!

Finn Fan Fix
This is NOT Finn.
This is – however – the COOLEST, most AMAZEBALLS! visitor we have EVER had (and we’ve had some fun ones!).
Yes – that is an adult Bald Eagle at MY POND!
I didn’t realize what he was at first – and then I put my glasses on. I stopped even thinking for a minute – and then grabbed my camera. I only got the one decent photo before he departed the fix.
I was a little crazy after that – as evidenced by my discomboobulation on my video right after! – but…oh. My. Goodness. He was so amazing and handsome.
We saw tons of them in Alaska but never did I ever expect to see one at my pond.
Okay – gushing complete. 🦅🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸

Such a cute card! Love the fun colors and the telephone image is so sweet! So awesome that you had a bald eagle visiting you pond! Hope that he comes back soon! 🙂
Me, too! Thank you so much, Amy! 🙂
What adorable card?
Thank you! 🙂
Handsome critter indeed! Glad you got a glimpse AND a photo…💗
Thanks, Mom! 🙂
Haven’t seen any Bald Eagles yet, but supposedly they have been sighted in Central Texas…maybe they are visiting new habitats. Good on you for the picture.
Thanks, Charlotte – I knew they were up in N GA – but…not down here! 🙂
Super cute card and stamp set! And… WOW!!!…. a BALD eagle!?…. that’s so cool there are no words! Is there some kind of “good luck” or premonition, or something, that goes with these birds making a visit to you? So pretty. Thank you for sharing!
I don’t know – but…it sure made me feel like I’d been graced with something special! Thanks, Darla! 🙂
Mary, I just LOVE this phone! I sure wish I still had one! Everything about your card made me smile! This is a great way to use my colors! Thank you for joining my challenge at The Paper Players this week!
Thanks so much, Claire! Yep – they’re antiques, for sure! 🙂
I love the card but it takes second place today to that bald eagle! How awesome! He is a handsome and amazing feller! We had one in a tree in front of the house one day—we took turns looking at him through the binoculars!so majestic. TFS
Yes – it was for sure the highlight of my day! Thanks, Susan! 🙂
