Stampin’ Up! Rustic Crate Joy for You Thank You Card

Happy Monday, y’all!  We’re in the last couple of weeks before Thanksgiving – have you started to gather your supplies??  In case you’re in denial that it’s so close – with Christmas right around the corner – it’s time to come to terms with it, y’all! 🙂

I’ve got another card that would be perfect for Thanksgiving – featuring the Rustic Crate bundle and…Joy of Christmas DSP!  Yep – that Christmas paper has gorgeous woodgrain designs and I knew it was perfect!  Pretty leaves from Abundant Beauty grace one layer and a little Exposed Brick 3D Embossing adds a perfect touch of tone-on-tone texture. And I’m playing along with the Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration challenge, too.

I started by embossing a Very Vanilla panel in the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder and then matting it on Pecan Pie cardstock for the card front.

I secured the leafy Abundant Beauty mask over a piece of Very Vanilla and then used Blending Brushes to add Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze ink.

When it was done, I used the largest Deckled Rectangle to cut out the panel – it ended up being about 3 3/8″ long and as wide as the die.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the panel to the card front with Liquid Glue – with the straight edge lined up with the edge of the card front.

Over the top, using Stampin’ Seal, I adhered a length of Natural Trim Ribbon.

I cut out a piece of woodgrain paper from the Joy of Christmas DSP using the fourth-from-largest Deckled Rectangle and adhered it at an angle using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped the Rustic Crate pumpkins image and crate front in Pecan Pie ink – then cut them out with their respective dies from the Rustic Crate set.  I colored the pumpkin image with Dark Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight, Light Pecan Pie and Cajun Craze, and both Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends.

I adhered the crate to the pumpkins with Liquid Glue – then adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I cut out the little placard die from Very Vanilla using the Rustic Crate die and stamped it with the Rustic Crate sentiment in Pumpkin Pie.  I used the die again to cut out a Pecan Pie frame – which I adhered to the sentiment with Liquid Glue.

I popped the sentiment into place with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A few Brushed Metallic Adhesive-backed Dots completed the card front.

On the inside, I stamped the pumpkins image in third generation Pecan Pie (so – ink the stamp, stamp it TWICE on scrap paper without re-inking and then stamp the panel, still without re-inking).  Then I added the Rustic Crate sentiment in Pumpkin Pie ink.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Pecan Pie mat and into my Cajun Craze card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Rustic Crate pumpkins in stamped-off-once Pecan Pie on the front…

…and more of the Joy of Christmas DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila! I love the sheer abundance of Fall goodness in this Rustic Crate set – and being able to cut everything out with dies is frosting on the cake! And there are even dies that emboss as they cut!  Love!  The Joy of Christmas is simply….STUNNING designer paper.  And it’s – obvs! – great for WAY more than just Christmas cards!
