Good morning, y’all! It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. We’ve got a fun theme challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table. I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
I have decided that I’m done with Halloween cards – maybe? – so I decided to use the SECOND part of our theme challenge to make a Fall birthday card – with pumpkins as the stars of the show! Out came the Pick of the Patch bundle and the cool sentiment-only Throughout the Year stamp set. Take a look-see:
And – here’s our challenge!
I picked several elements from the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge. I went across both diagonals!
I’d seen a card like this that my friend and teamie Nel Thames posted on our team Facebook page that I loved…
…and I’d been wanting to make one like it. So…here we go!
I started by matting a piece of All About Autumn DSP on Basic Black to create the card front.
I wrapped some white Baker’s Twine twice around the panel – securing it in the back with a couple of Glue Dots.
On a narrow piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped the five pumpkins – and their cute little “speckles” from Pick of the Patch. Starting at the bottom with Moody Mauve. Then Calypso Coral, Old Olive, Misty Moonlight and finally Crushed Curry.
The little leaf at the top is stamped in Granny Apple Green.
Using my Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Write Marker, I added some grass at the bottom. Then I matted the panel on Basic Black and popped it onto the card front with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I used two lengths of the white Baker’s Twine to tie a bow around the twine on the card front.
I stamped the Throughout the Year sentiment in Versamark on a piece of Moody Mauve cardstock, sprinkled it with white Stampin’ Embossing Powder and heat set it with the Heat Tool.
When it was cool, I cut it out with the smallest Deckled Rectangle die and popped it over the twine with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added three Misty Moonlight gems from the Tinsel Gems Three-Pack and the card front was done.
On the inside, I added three of the Pick of the Patch pumpkins in Old Olive, Misty Moonlight and Crushed Curry, plus a Granny Apple Green leaf and grass on a Very Vanilla panel.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Moody Mauve card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got some pumpkins and grass on the front…
…and more of the All About Autumn 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! See why I loved Nel’s card?! Too stinkin’ cute with those stacked up Pick of the Patch punkins! The Throughout the Year stamp set live up to its name with sentiments for occasions…throughout the year! 🤷♀️🤷♀️. And no one can dispute the awesomeness of the All About Autumn 6″ x 6″ DSP!
I hope you like!
