Good morning, y’all! It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. We’ve got a great theme challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
A big wide covered porch is the perfect outdoor spot for Spring and Fall (and about 2 hours a month in the summer here in GA!) – and the Lazy Days bundle (coming on 2 May!) is perfect for “building” just such a porch. A bright Azure Afternoon from the Bright & Beautiful DSP sets the tone! Take a look-see:
And here’s our theme!
I started by adhering a piece of Bright & Beautiful DSP to the front of an Azure Afternoon card base using Liquid Glue.
Next up, I embossed a Basic White square in the Timeworn 3D Embossing Folder and matting it on Flirty Flamingo cardstock. Then I adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.
I used the cool dies in the Lazy Days set to cut out a Crumb Cake “trellis” and then two ivy die cuts from Old Olive cardstock.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the ivy to the trellis – “training” it around the upright! I trimmed the end of the trellis a bit (it was a little too long…). Then I adhered the whole thing to the card front.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the hanging plant, the potted plant and the birdhouse in Pecan Pie ink.
I used several Stampin’ Blends to color the images:
– Hanging Plant: Light Azure Afternoon Stampin’ Blend for the pot, Light Mossy Meadow and Light Wild Wheat Stampin’ Blends for the leaves.
– Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend to shade the birdhouse.
– Potted Plant: Light Crumb Cake and Light Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends for the barrel, Light Old Olive and Light Wild Wheat Blends for the leaves.
Then I cut them out with the matching dies in the Lazy Days set.
I adhered the hanging plant with a Stampin’ Dimensional (behind the plant itself) and a dab of Liquid Glue behind the hangar at the top.
I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere a length of Balmy Blue/White 1/2″ Variegated Ribbon. Then I used some Liquid Glue to adhere the potted plant.
On a piece of Flirty Flamingo, I stamped the “thanks” from Lazy Days in Pecan Pie. Then I inked just “friend” (leaving the “s” off) and stamped it underneath. I added a comma with the Pecan Pie Stampin’ Write Marker. Then I cut it out with an oval die from the All That Die set.
I popped the sentiment over the ribbon with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals – and then added the die cut birdhouse with one more Dimensional.
Brushed Brass Butterflies flitting here and there finished off the card front!
On the inside, I stamped the trellis image from Lazy Days in Crumb Cake across the top of a Basic White panel – they fit together perfectly! I colored it with my Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend. Then I stamped the hanging plant in Pecan Pie and colored it with the Blends as I’d done on the front.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Flirty Flamingo mat and into the Azure Afternoon card base and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the potted Lazy Days plant in Pecan Pie (colored like on the front of the card!) on the front…
..and more of that gorgeous Azure Afternoon paper from the Bright & Beautiful DSP on the envelope flap!
Et Voila! I think this Lazy Days bundle is so fun! Rocking Chairs, tables, cold beverages – it’s all inside!
And the Bright & Beautiful DSP is NOT just for birthdays and celebrations, right?! 🙂
I hope you like!
