Stampin’ Up! Rejoice in Him Easter Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a fun sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

As we watch the days and months of 2023 tick by, we need to be aware of the fact that Easter is just around the corner.  No – really! So – I decided this would be a good day to bring you my first Easter card of the year.  I used the very wunnermus Rejoice in Him stamp set – and a little bit of free-during-SAB Favored Flowers DSP.  Take a look-see:

And here’s our sketch!

I pulled the color palette from the Sunday Stamps color challenge this week.

I started by adhering a piece of the pretty Favored Flowers DSP (which you can get for free thru the end of February with a $50+ purchase) to the front of a Blackberry Bliss card base.

Then I adhered a piece of Vellum Basic Specialty DSP to a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock using Stampin’ Seal (under where I knew it would be hidden by the decorative elements going on top.  Then I adhered the matted panel to the card front with Stampin’ Seal.

I cut out a leaf from the same Vellum Basic Specialty Paper using a die from the Framed Florets die set – and adhered it to the card base with Liquid Glue.

Using a little Stampin’ Seal, I adhered a figure-8 looped Linen Thread bow.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the leaf image from Rejoice in Him twice in Evening Evergreen ink and colored them with the Light Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blend.  I also stamped the dove in Tuxedo Black and added a little smidge of shading with the Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blend.

Then I fussy cut all three images.  I added the leaves over the Linen Thread using Liquid Glue.

On another piece of Basic White, I stamped the Jesus image from Rejoice in Him in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I added some shading to His robe with the Light Smoky Slate Blend and then used the SU500 Blend (from the Stampin’ Blends Medium Combo) and the SU1000 Blend(from the Stampin’ Blends Light Combo) to color His face.  Then I cut Him out using the oval in the Framed Florets set.

While I had the oval die out, I cut a Blackberry Bliss oval.  Then I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere both of them to the card front.

I stamped the Rejoice in Him sentiment in Evening Evergreen on Basic White cardstock, cut it out with a die from the Mini Pocket Envelope Dies and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used a little bit of Liquid Glue to adhere the fussy cut dove.

I added a few Highland Heather Pastel Pearls – and hid a Glue Dot under them to further adhere the Vellum – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second Rejoice in Him sentiment in Evening Evergreen on a Basic White panel.  Then I inked the leaf in Evening Evergreen, stamped it three times on scrap paper and then stamped it over the sentiment without re-inking.

I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Blackberry Bliss mat and then into my Blackberry Bliss card base and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Rejoice in Him leaf in Evening Evergreen on the front…

…and more of the Favored Flowers DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Oh my – I do love this Rejoice in Him stamp set – the images and the sentiments are…perfect!  So wonderful to have it for Easter this year and beyond!  And the Favored Flowers DSP is simply gorgeous.  Oh – and FREE! 🙂
