Stampin’ Up! Sweet Candy Canes & Christmas Banners for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  We’ve got a pretty color challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I saw Christmas straight up when I saw our color challenge – and I’d seen a sweet card in the Jul – Dec 2022 Mini Catalog – so…I went all in!  Sweet Candy Canes and Christmas Banners bundles!  Add some Sweetest Christmas DSP and a couple of Specialty papers and…boom!  Take a look-see:

I know it’s a little ambiguous but…here’s the color challenge!

I started by adhering a piece of Snowflake Specialty Vellum to the front of a Sweet Sorbet card base – using little dabs of Liquid Glue behind the flocked dots on the vellum (so the adhesive wouldn’t show!).

Then I adhered a Basic White circle – cut with the largest Stylish Shapes die – with Liquid Glue.

Over the circle, with Stampin’ Seal, I adhered a strip of Real Red Glimmer Paper.

Then it was time to make some greenery using the great dies in the Christmas Banner Die set (which is conveniently bundled with the Christmas Banners stamp set!

– I cut two Pool Party cardstock leaves

– Two leaves from White Glimmer Paper

– Two pine boughs from Garden Green cardstock

– One berry sprig from Crumb Cake cardstock

– Five berries from Real Red Glimmer Paper – this is a single die and it cuts all five berries at the same time! 🙂

Using Liquid Glue, I carefully adhered the five Real Red Glimmer berries to the tips of the Crumb Cake berry sprig.

Before building the collage, I used a Candy Canes Die to cut out a striped candy cane from the Sweetest Christmas DSP – I LOVE when dies and DSP work together like that, don’t you?!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere all the elements of the collage to the card front!

The sentiment, from the Sweet Candy Canes stamp set, is stamped in Versamark Ink on a piece of Garden Green cardstock.  Then I sprinkled it with white Embossing Powder and set it with my Heat Tool.

I cut the sentiment out with a banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies and popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

I added some – okay, kind of a lot!! – Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels here and there (and everywhere!) and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the sentiment from the Sweet Candy Canes set in Sweet Sorbet on a Basic White panel.  In the corner, I used stamps from the Christmas Banners set to stamp some greenery: Pool Party leaves, Garden Green pine boughs, Crumb Cake berry sprigs and Real Red berries!  It’s photopolymer, so it’s super easy to place all the stamps!  Have fun building Christmas greenery! 🙂

I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Pool Party mat and to the inside of the Sweet Sorbet card base – and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got more Christmas Banners greenery on the front…

…and some Sweetest Christmas DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila! These two bundles – the Sweet Candy Canes bundle and the Christmas Banners bundle – were made to work hand-in-hand to help create holiday cards – and I think Stampin’ Up! did a bang up job with them!  When you factor in the Sweetest Christmas DSP, well….it’s a winner winner Christmas dinner kinda deal you’ve got going on!!  Don’t you love being able to cut images right out of the DSP with dies??  I sure know that I do! 🙂
