Good morning – and Happy Friday! By the time you read this – God willing and the creek don’t rise – we’ll be on our way to Florida! Yes. Yes, that’s right. We’re driving INTO the storm.
Cuz…we smart like that! 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
I have faith it’s going to be okay – OnStage will be awesome and Dinney will be great next week!
The card I made yesterday on my Facebook Live is one that sort of developed while I was making it. I had no real plan in my head. But…I started with Soft Seedlings – and the Timeworn and Timber 3D Embossing Folders – so…it was destined to end up right in the middle of my wheelhouse! Take a look-see!
I know, right?! I love it!
So – I was very much inspired – and sort of “given permission”, if you will! – by the Global Design Project‘s CASE The Designer challenge.
And the color palette is from the Sunday Stamps challenge – further enabling me!! 🙂
I started by embossing an Early Espresso panel in the Timber 3D Embossing Folder and then adhering it at an angle to the front of my Crumb Cake cardstock with Liquid Glue.
I embossed a Crumb Cake panel in the Timeworn 3D Embossing Folder – this card is ALL about the textures, right?! – and then tore the edges to create the size I was seeking! Tip: once you start tearing – keep tearing in the same direction. I tend to tear the paper TOWARDS me. And – if the size you end up with isn’t exactly the same as mine – just go on with it! It’ll be okay! 🙂
I used a Blending Brush to add some Crumb Cake ink to the edges of the panel then…I sort of crumpled it up. Not TOO hard – just a little. And curled the edges. Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the card front – again at an angle!
On another piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, I stamped my fave Soft Seedlings leaf three times. First I inked it on the Crushed Curry ink pad. Then I used a Blending Brush to add some Cajun Craze ink here and there on the stamp.
Then – I pulled out my stupendous Paper Snips and fussy cut the three leaves.
I embossed all three of them in the Timeworn 3D Embossing Folder – curled the edges and then adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue.
I used two lengths of Crumb Cake Baker’s Twine to tie a simple bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot.
On another piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, I stamped the Soft Seedlings sentiment in Early Espresso and cut it out with a Stitched Rectangle Die. I used double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment over the bow.
I added some Brushed Metallic Adhesive-backed Dots and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped that pretty leaf again – in Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze – on a Crumb Cake panel.
I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to an Early Espresso mat and into the Crumb Cake card base and the card was done!
My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Soft Seedlings leaf on the front…
…and again on the envelope flap.
Et Voila. Yep – this one is my kind of card! Lots of texture from the Timeworn and Timber 3D Embossing Folders. Some vintage-izing with Blending Brushes and a little controlled crumpling. And – the pièce de ré·sis·tance….that amazing, awesome, GORGEOUS Soft Seedlings leaf. BOOM!
If you’d like to recreate this card, all the products and card cuts are listed below! And – this was the card I made for my Facebook Live video yesterday! If you’d like to see it – again or for the first time! – here ’tis on YouTube!
And…I’ve created a printable PDF with written instructions and a list of the products used to create this project. You can download, print and/or save it by clicking this image:

Finn Fan Fix
Twas the night-before-the-night-before leaving and all on the couch…
Not a creature was happy…
…most especially not Finn! 😔
He was VERY be-by. How do they know?? No suitcases were out – nothing was being packed. And yet… 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
He DOES know how to push that GIANT guilt button I perpetually sport atop my head!!
And then he LAUGHS at me!
Not cool, dude.

Be safe on your trip and enjoy tomorrow. I will be thinking of all of you.
Thank you, Barbara! 🙂
Such a pretty card!! Love the fall colors and those beautiful fall leaves! See you in a few hours! 🙂
Looking forward to it, my friend! Thanks so much! 🙂
Safe travels Mary to you and all who are on their way to On-Stage! Have a wonderful time with all of your creative friends. Thank you too, for your service to our country! Happy Veteran’s Day!
Thank you, Angie – it was very much my honor & pleasure! 🙂
I am fairly certain the creek WILL rise…and fairky hopeful the Creek will not…😉
Ah, the guilt button. Addy knows where it is too. I suspect the Finn will be fine once he hooks up with his buds.
Y’all have a fun time!
Yes – the creek – not the Creek! 😉 Thanks so much, Mom! 🙂
Awww……well, I hope that now Finn is happily playing with his friends and you are on your way……..and feeling lots better! You can’t be punky at a Stampin Up event and especially not at Disney!!
You outdid yourself designing this fall card….I love fall cards….and leaves…..it is perfection.
Safe travels….have loads of fun!
Thank so much, Faith – now that we’re here with everyone and having a great time, it’s easier! So happy that you love this card – I really had fun with it! 🙂
Now, THAT is a Mary card! And why I follow you. I love everything about this card, and it will definitely be CASEd. Thanks for the inspiration.
Have a great time in Florida, and stop being guilty. Finn always has a great time with his friends while you are gone. Enjoy OnStage and Disney. Wish I could join you.
Wish you could, too, my friend! Thank you so much – I really loved making this one! 🙂
…and had to look again at this card! It is beautiful! 💗💗💗
Thanks, Mom! 🙂
Super beautiful card. Love those leaves and torn edges and all that texture! TFS. Have fun at OnStage and DisneyWorld! Finn will be fine.
I know. Just had to get past the “leaving” piece! Thank you so much, Susan! 🙂
Oh my gosh Mary, your card is such a perfect example of using texture effectively for a beautiful result! I love the kind of “shabby chic” look the torn paper gives to the card. I’m so glad you were inspired to join us at Sunday Stamps! Have a safe trip to Florida!
Thanks so much, Stef – it was a lot of fun to make! And thanks – we’re having a good and safe time so far! 🙂
Absolutely beautiful! Love the depth, textures, color…..Everything!
Thanks so much, Judi! 🙂
Beautiful, Mary, I love what you’ve done with this set so much! Such a great use of our colors, of course, but your design is just right, too – love the torn edges over the textures! Thanks so much for playing at Sunday Stamps!
Thanks much, Heather – appreciate you stopping by!! 🙂
