Stampin’ Up! Whimsical Spruced Up Christmas for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  We’ve got a cool sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I haven’t done a lot with the Spruced Up bundle – with its Spruced Up Outlines Dies – and I decided I needed to remedy that!  So – I pulled it – and the pretty (and fun!) Whimsical Woodland 3D Embossing Folder.  Take a look-see:

And here’s the sketch we were working with!

I also played with the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge.  Didn’t sweep the board – but went across the middle (Christmas Tree – Sparkle – Star)! 🙂

I started by embossing a Petal Pink panel in the fun Whimsical Woodland 3D Embossing Folder, then matted it on Shaded Spruce and Basic White to make the card front.

From a Petal Pink – snowflake-strewn panel in the Santa’s Express Memories & More Card Pack – I cut the largest Stylish Shapes circle die cut and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I used a little dab of Liquid Glue to adhere a Wonderful Snowflake embellishment.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped two large and one small tree from the Spruced Up stamp set in Shaded Spruce, then I cut them out with the matching dies in the bundled Spruced Up Outlines die set.

One of the cool features of this set is that, when you use it to cut out the stamped images, you ALSO get a narrow outline die cut!  Like…a twofer!!  Or a BOGO!! 😉

I started layering up the large stamped trees – adding a large white outline – on the card front, using Liquid Glue.

I also added the small outline and small stamped tree with Liquid Glue.  Then, using a Glue Dot, I adhered a small simple bow tied from Silver Twine from the Simply Elegant Trim pack.

I stamped the sentiment from Spruced Up in Shaded Spruce on a strip of Basic White, added two banner ends with my Paper Snips and popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used the star dies in the Spruced Up Outlines to cut three White Glimmer stars (from the Real Red & White 6″ x 6″ Glimmer Paper).  I adhered them here and there with Liquid Glue.

I added some silver Festive Pearls to the sentiment and card front and the card front was done.

For the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from the Spruced Up set in Shaded Spruce on Basic White.  Then I added the little snowflake/stars in Petal Pink.

I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Shaded Spruce AND Basic White mat, and then into my Petal Pink card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Spruced Up stars in Petal Pink on the front…

…and some Shaded Spruce paper from the Santa Express DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love this pretty card in Shaded Spruce and Petal Pink, don’t you?!  I think it’s fun to be able to use elements from packs like the Santa Express Memories & More Card Pack – like I’ve done here.  It’s beautiful – and it fits the entire theme of the card perfectly!  Be sure to look at ALL the pieces and parts in those cool packs!  And I really love the sweet outline that you get when you use the Spruced Up Outlines dies  – cutting out great tree shapes – and there’s ornaments, too! – from the bundled Spruced Up stamp set.  So much decorating fun with one run thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine!
